PES 2010 demo

Sure, FIFA is the one from the big, evil cooperation but that also means they've been able to get the best people in, get the most licences and have more people working on it.

Plus they have the money to get proper servers, online in PES has been a nightmare for the last few years, and that was actually the deciding factor when I switched my PES 09 for FIFA 09 last fall. The product I got was a real eye opener, not at all like FIFA 07 or even 08 (which I've only tried a few times but didn't really like).

Didn't feel right to switch from Seabass and co at first, but they really have failed. In order to try to keep up their releases have seemed increasingly confusing. PES 09 was still a lot of fun, but it doesn't come anywhere near FIFA IMO.

Maybe it's just because I've gotten used to FIFA so much....but I have no idea what I just played. Seems like a step in the wrong direction in so many ways. First off I scored pretty much every time I shot the ball...and the player animations are just horrible, running, walking..whatever, none of it looks real!

Like I said, there are so many things wrong with PES it would take me all night to list them but I still wouild rather play it than FIFA. I haven't played either new demo yet so that may change. If there's one thing I absolutely don't want from a football game it's a simulation. I don't want realism, I want fun gameplay and that's where PES has always scored highly and FIFA has always scored very low. FIFA has always looked clunky and laboured and slow. You never quite feel like you are a part of a game.

But maybe with what people have said the new PES is a step backwards. I hope not because that means I have to play 2009 for another year which would be maddening because the commentary is already still the same as it was the year before. I don't know whether I can take another year of Mark Lawrenson's dire comentary. I may get PES 2 or 4 or 6 back out of the drawer! ;)

Also I never play online so that might alter things as I believe FIFA is better here. (I wouldn't know)

PES was always designed to be a simulation though? It was the reason I bought it for over a decade. It even ran with a tagline of the real football simulator. You can adjust the speed of FIFA, I have it on slow as its as good as it has ever gotten for me.

fucking gutted then pes always promise the loyal fans so much the fucking wankers!!!!!!
I might have to buy fifa :(:( and i fucking hate fifa

That's just advertising selling points. It's a game first and as a result it plays better. I'm genuinely annoyed that they never seem to improve the gameplay at all and all the problems that were in the original PES are still there now. But I'd be equally annoyed with FIFA which still isn't any fun almost to the point of being dreary. All the money they put into it must go to the liscensing because the game engine is still dreadful.

Konami should just re-release PES 6, with an updated name and player 'roster'.

It would still sell more copies than this effort of a game ive just played, and deleted from my PS3.

It reminds me of those crappy football games u get in amusement arcades with three coloured buttons and a joystick.

PES has been such a let down for 3 years now, but i've still bought it every year out of hope and partly loyalty for such great games in the past but not this year. They havn't put the effort in so they are not getting my money. That doesn't mean im going to get Fifa either though, Not played the 2010 demo yet so i can't comment on this years but even these supposed "hugely improved" last 2 versions have been utter garbage. Just release PES 4 for the ps3 and it would still be the best football game on the market.

This is why I have moved onto FIFA. The freedom to express yourself.

Just scored this against Bayern in a tight match that finished 1.0 on the 10 demo on world class.

Its the detail. A couple of stepovers, use some strength to palm away a defender and then a finesse shot into the far corner. I love the depth.

Yes mate, they do. Its quite hard to pull off a goal like that. Thats the problem with PES now. That ^^^ is a basic goal.

Tell me where the defender could of made the tackle? He doesnt get anywhere near me. He is pressing me and using his strength but im pushing back. All game I was knocked off the ball with a variety of tackles, that was the only time I got free.

You play the new PES demo and watch the AI struggle to animate 2 players in your direction while the rest stand lifeless.
