Peter Crouch

Uhh Crouch relies upon service, and when the ball is played to his feet he controls it, big plus factor he scores goals, wreaks havoc, he also benefits from playing with very good footballers, and we have those in abundance.

Crouch with service from two wingers( which is how we are going to play) and fast driving mid-field players(which we also play with) I couldn't think of anyone more ideal.

Petrov, Robinho, SWP Ireland Elano, and a bloke who can hold up the ball.

You know there is no gaurantee that Villa or Etoo or ehoever would be more successful.

We have three luxury players, Elano Robinho and Petrov, we need another temperamental prima donna like a hole in the head.

Remember Tevez Berbatov Rooney and Ronaldo all had a chance to bed in with various clubs etc, and also were basically Prem proven.

Crouch will do for me with the players we already have. Liverpool would have won the League if he had been back up to Torres IMO.

Great temperament as well.

jeeesus christ! check his career history and you'll find he's a one goal in three games striker. same as bellamy (except, in real terms, he's of even less value cos he only plays about half a season). those sort of strikers won't take the team to another level, they'll just keep us at the one we're already accustomed to.

He wont, he will be an invaluable team player, who will score goals, but the others around him will take us to the next level.

Read the discussions properly.

thanks for the advice. i already have. now don't try to school me!

Realistically, we aren't going to play CL for two seasons, so that blows that "he isn't a CL quality player' argument out of the water.

He would give us the option we don't currently have -- a forward who can win something in the air.

No thanks. For his height, he isnt brilliant in the air so wouldnt neccesarily give us the extra option of trying to stick it on his head. Its a type of signing I would expect West Ham to make or someone like that and without sounding arrogant or anything like that - with the investment we certainly need to be looking alot higher.

I wouldn't mind him. As long is he puts in 100% and scores goals, i'll be happy.
I like Peter Crouch a a player but would he lift us to the next level. He'll obviously give us the height we need upfront and can hold up play well but would he score the goals regularly?

I'm not a stats man but I don't seem to remember him scoring that many goals at Liverpool in the time he was there and he's hardly set the world alight since he moved to Portsmouth.
