Peter Drury replaces Martin Tyler on Sky Sports

Should have gone/been replaced years ago - never sounds like he's enthused about what he's watching and has increasingly failed to capture the exciting moments in games for the last few years and has failed to mask his allegiances as well as he used to.

Nobody seems to like the guy, know a couple Leicester fans who find him annoying af

I wish I could get in on the royalties from the "Class Of 92" and the 99 Treble Winners. Both programmes seem to be on loop - especially after every united setback.
Most of the English media have missed out on the rapid expansion of football totally because of their obsession with the past and MUFC and LFC. They are the best supported clubs but most other fans dislike them and that is a bigger audience. Attendances are booming at all levels of the game and a US made series "Welcome to Wrexham" has been a success globally.
Virtually all of this was initially ignored by the English media and now they are playing catch up. SKY has spent ten years mostly sneering at City and promoting the fast-fading cartel clubs. The same is true of most of the printed media. Even now they are more fixated on negative stories than positive.
SKY stood still and made a huge commercial misjudgement which has cost them dearly. They can't say they weren't warned by people on fans forums like Bluemoon. Anyone under the age of 40 can't remember the "class of 92" and they are not impressed by laddish 1990's style banter. They have blown it and now will pay the price.

He was the voice of football for a long time but the Aguero moment should have been his final game. Even by then his lack of enthusiasm was evident. I'm taking it as City winning the treble killed it for him completely :)

Perfectly put.

Saw this on twitter from a few months back. Surely it can’t be real? I can’t believe that Arsenal fans would spend money on a banner about him - and mention us too.

Probably should’ve gone years ago tbh. I think the fact that fans of almost every team think that he dislikes their club is pretty damning of his commentary style. Hope they get someone like Peter Drury to replace him.

I bet the rags don’t think he dislikes them.

Pretty obvious where his loyalties lie. I‘m not hopeful that Sky commentary will be any less biased against us whoever they have commentating, I think that directive comes from the top within that organisation.

Fair play to him for the Aguerooooooooooooo commentary though.

What a great start to a weekend. Hopefully he takes a few others down with him. Looks like a few cuts at Slysports, probably due to falling viewing figures. Maybe, just maybe, it's due to alienating many supporters from clubs other than those wearing red.
Totally agree. For how much longer can 'Gary Neville's Soccer Box' continue ? It's blatant pandering to the fans of the Red tops who constantly hark back to 'their golden era's'. Yes, it's good for Sky's viewing figures for otherwise dead schedule time but for Christ's sake give other teams an opportunity to 'go down memory lane' instead of Scousers and Rags pulling the curtains and reaching for the Kleenex.
