just been to see him tonight at the AO Arena. Gonna say 8/10 max.

Reading your post again now I can see some of what you mean. It was more polished than you described, but in every other respect hard to disagree with you.

I did enjoy it, and glad I went, but I wasn’t crying with laughter very much - though tbf I was never like that with his stand up “before” really.
Whereas M&P, Phoenix Nights etc was (and still is) cry out loud funny.

How was he in himself though, like I said he lots his train of thought and was sucking on a lozenges for the most of it?

I went too, and this sums it up well.

That first half was woeful, me and the Mrs were joking after paying £18 for 2 beers and queuing for ten mins for a piss, that we’d waited 18 months for that. Second half was far better, but the end of the show thing was dreadful.

I wish him all the best but he needs a complete redo

Yeah, noticed him eating through it - is that what you might do for diabetes??
Having not seen him for a couple of years and him having zero media profile outside of going to see him live, its clear he’s a lot slimmer and the shape of his face now does take some getting used to, he looks a lot different imho.
He does sound the same though. I’d heard some views before that his voice was a lot slower but close your eyes and it was the same.
He didn’t lose his train of thought though, and he was quite active on stage as I remember him before.

Rumour us he had leukaemia I think the lozenges are for his throat maybe a side affect of treatment. He did sound different but that was a while ago maybe he’s recovering better.
