Peter Kay tour

This image is nearly 12 months old and he's changed even more since.

I must admit that when I went to watch the show a few weeks ago, I spent the first part thinking it was a shit look/sound alike (not to say he wasn't funny, the show was brilliant).

I said to the Mrs on the way out that I'd be very surprised if the tour / residency at the AO lasts as long as its scheduled for cos he just didn't seem 100%.
From the reviews I hope he sticks it out, perhaps just a bit of nerves and apprehension.

Is he ill?

I must admit some of his stuff has been hilarious over the years, Phoenix Nights and The Peter Kay thing were some of the best modern day comedy made

With the previous tour cancellation and the rumours as to why that was along with his appearance and voice change, I'd say there's a good bet that he has been.

In what way is he different? I saw him at the Lowry in 2001, never laughed so much, so pleased his audience are enjoying his act.
Like another poster said, he's lost loads of weight and his voice sounds like someone impersonating him.

He could well be significantly healthier than when he was very heavy for all I know though.

Hope he's well regardless and he made me laugh so much last night.

Typical that a fat **** has lost weight and everyone suspects they're ill.

Maybe the death of his Grandmother, that he mentions in his show, and does a lovely peice about her, did stress him out and he lost weight from that and then carried on with a weight loss journey.

There were rumours ages ago that he was ill though, in hospital. But what do you believe.

Who knows. Fair fucks to him, for whatever reason. He looks great and his show is brilliant.

Went a couple of weeks ago after blagging a reduced price ticket. Really is a show of 2 halves. I thought the first half was garbage, it was like the same nostalgia schtick on repeat. When he spent 15 minutes repeating TV adverts of the 70/80/90s I thought I might not return for the 2nd half.

Second half much better although if I'd paid full price for a ticket I would not have been happy. Almost as unhappy as the AO charging £9 for a pint of Moretti.

He came back on stage for an encore and within seconds it was clear he was going for a re-hash of the first half of the show (more group singalongs), so up, out and onto the Metrolink before the crowds hit, Result.

His voice and look has changed, voice has lost it's fullness and he's lost a lot of weight. He has gone through a health battle though as well as losing his Gran, he's been seen many a time at Christies unfortuntely, let's hope he's over that battle and on the road to recovery.

Just wish he'd write some more original material, I still love re-watching Phoenix Nights and That Peter Kay Thing

Tell you what, he looks great compared to 10-15 years ago

He turned up in the chippy my step son works in down Morecambe West End back in August. Very happy to pose for pics but asked staff to wait a while before posting them. Bloody long way to go for Fish and Chips if you live in Bolton! :)
