Peter Walton..

Also from him...

And...

Surprise, surprise, a former referee not on the official payroll sees things differently.
I think that successful refs at PL level must apply whatever culture the head ref decides or they are simply not reffing at that level.
Expect contrived different interpretations for different clubs. VAR simply allows a second bite of the cherry to those that want certain results.
Fairness disappears where money is concerned.

Very much believable. The PL is rife with institutionalised cheating. Time added, pen this week for one team and next week it's a dive, cards handed out/not handed out for identical incidents, political refereeing. We had three pens conceded v Leicester, and in the last two games we've had three pens waived away. Referees are in a particular mental state depending on which team they have in front of them. The notion of even-handedness and the application of the LotG as they are written is a period in geological time - long since gone.
It’ll even out ;)

For a few years I played village cricket in West Gloucestershire. Playing against our local rivals from just over the border in Wales. I'm batting and get a edge which bounces up and knocks out three front teeth. The keeper shouts to me "I can see one tooth over there, may be it can be replaced". I go to fetch it and the bastard stumps me.
They're like that in Wales? Did he have any Rag memorabilia under his whites?

Noticed that myself, however, I seam to recall a bit about if the ball is touched by a member of the defending team who is then dispossessed then there can be no offside. All down to interpretation, maybe its because they dont want their beloved United upended on the last day of the season AGAIN!! so are trying to build up a larger buffer to help them. I thought Jon Moss was quite lenient with AV last night and we should have had a number of free kicks with AV having a few bookings. The other problem with the offside rules as well is they keep chopping and changing them year on year to the point where nobodies got a fekkin clue
More frequently than that.
Every month it seems!

Wonder how long before ITV click that all Mr Walton does is agree with the on field decision. Unless it gets changed by VAR when he will then come up with some waffle.

Today he said the Pole got a 2nd yellow because he had raked down the ankle of his opponent which even Ray Charles could see was complete BS

Definitely. He even argued the toss over that ridiculous penalty United got in the CL against PSG, that none existent handball from a shot going into row Z. Even Ferdinand didn't think it was a penalty.

Walton making a big song and dance about EUFA visiting the players and telling them the action of raking down the opponents ankle is a yellow car offense and that's why the Polish player got his second yellow card and his marching orders.

[Replay shows the challenge was on the foot]
