Peter William Sutcliffe

My dad worked on this case after one of Sutcliffe's victims was found hidden in shrubbery in Southern Cemetery. Before she was found he'd returned to the scene as her body was partly dragged from the hiding place. At first the police thought he was taunting them by doing this but after he was caught it turned out he'd paid her in brand new notes from his recent pay packet and he was desperate to get them back to avoid them being traced back to him.

Horrible twat.

The work that was done around investigating the source of that bank note still has to be one of the best pieces of detective work in British history. It was instigated by a GMP senior detective and would have led them right to Sutcliffe, had the Geordie hoax not so captured George Oldfield

I remember travelling to school (St Greg's) on the 50 bus, travelling up Anson Road/Upper Brook St) and an area behind MRI was cordoned off, and one of those large tents had been erected. Must have been around 77-78 time. Horrific time for ladies in the North of England.

A fella from my estate was one of the people to find that MRI body.

The ex Boro keeper Ben Roberts father was hauled in by police on 3 occasions for questioning wi th regards to Sutcliffe's crimes. When Sutcliffe finally caught West Yorkshire police called Ben's father and apologised and told him he was number 5 favourite on their list of suspects. So he asked what number Peter Sutcliffe was and was told he had been 97. Ben's dad had a remarkable likeness to Sutcliffe. After this, he shaved his beard and never grew it back
My Dad was questioned at home 3 times. He had a car the same as one they were looking for, think it was the light blue Corsair. My 17 year old sister lived on Roundhay Rd near the park and went to uni there so (i presume) they spotted the car in the area.
Eventually me and my brother went to stay with my Sis and we would walk her and her mates to and from school.

I always feel for the copper who suspected sutcliffe and told his boss but got nowhere.
He looks like a broken man whenever i've seen him in documentarys.

Had a wholly incongruous, camp, somewhat effete, high pitched voice - rendered even more comical by his West Yorkshire accent. He sounded limp and ineffectual. Lamentably, it may have caused one or two of his victims to lower their guard.

Absolute disgrace he wasn’t caught sooner.

The world is better off without cunts like this. Fuck him.

Your first line and a half had me thinking I'd bounced onto the Gundogan thread by accident G.
