they should name it the south stand and have a statue outside.

Posted this already, but this may be a factor against a statue:

Muslim scholars have unanimously agreed on the prohibition of making statues with the purpose of worshipping or revering them. If this is the case, the sin of making statues involves the sculptor, the buyer, the worshipper and deifiers.

I dont think the owner will implement his own religous views on the club. Nevermind this isnt a muslim country/club and about 99% of our fans probably arent muslim.

Dont really know much about islam but isnt against forms of gambling ??? in which case then there would be no gambling/bets in the ground ?

just remembered isnt there already a bert trautman statue in one of the office buildings, we could place that outside

Don't some Muslims say it's against Islam to have a bank account too? yet Mansour buys and sells chunks of Barclays. Wouldn't have thought Islam will have much influence on the decisions the club takes.

Last year i posted on BM , the idea of recognising one of our legends ( Bert ) by naming a stand after him while he was still alive .
anyway some of the replies ranged from laughable to disgraceful ( "fuck him he was a nazi anyway " ) so how frustrating would it be that now he's passed away MCFC might consider naming a stand after him ? ....Then think what a special day it would have been to have done it with Bert on the pitch for the unveiling .....

The club today.. via the MEN... have said they will be meeting this week to discuss what type of memorial to Bert... they say they will 'listen' to the fans on this....

So, South Stand becomes the Trautmann stand surely?

Statue for this statuesque man surely. His image should be perpetuated, much more fitting in my opinion and a first for our club.

A statue would be great...

but naming the stand after him would certainly increase his legendary status amongst football fans. Away fans who don't know of him buying tickets would be inclined to find out 'why' it's now called the Trautmann stand.

I think 'The Trautmann End' has a much better ring to it than 'The Bert Trautmann Stand' - seems like a bit of a mouthful to me.
