Ban them and ban their ISP .... whatever it takes lol

Just block their IP or else you'll block everyone else on that ISP :O)

There are spam databases aswell to stop dickheads in Russia/Khazakstan/Bolivia etc etc spamming the site aswell.

My 2p.

I'll just say what I said earlier, there are about 1 zillion suggestions on how to improve things, most may not be possible, or would create a lot of work for Ric, or would cause ther kind of errors we occasionally get when busy.

Almost none of you that are complaining have ever run a forum, let alone one of the size of bluemoon, so you have no idea what is or isn't possible within the contraints of what Ric has to work with.

The best suggestion however is if you read a shite post or a WUM post then DO NOT REPLY, let it sink to where it deserves to be.

We as Mods are doing what we can with it all, and while it may seem not enough, believe us when we say without us it WOULD be MUCH worse.

Yep, ignore the morons is the best way. One of the (many) good things about this place is that the number of posts means that a 'nuisance' thread will quickly move down the page and into obscurity very quickly. So if someone starts another Tevez/Kaka/Hughes Out thread and it's the seventeenth of the day, just ignore it and it will soon be gone. Posting "oh no not another thread about X" simply bumps the thing up the list and obscures the more interesting stuff.

With a bit of practice, it's possible to filter out the crappy stuff and go after the posts you're really interested in. That said, I would support any blocking of persistent WUMs as they are a pain in the arse.

EDIT: Yes.

Agree 100% but if its possible to do what URG said I think it would be worth it. Some Moderations to board software which some may not know about are possible with the constant new releases, though im sure Ric does know about most of these since he's been running the site for so long.

And, it also helps if you press the Report
icon_post_report.gif
button... it makes it stand out for the mods and we can feck it off a lot quicker.

I think the level of moderation on Bluemoon will be increased to deal with the WUMs.

While it's always been our preference to err on the side of letting things slide, the amount of spam, winding up, and personal abuse in these forums (especially transfer) has been on the increase, and at the detriment of the forum.
