Put it this way, in the 21 years of the premier league giving out manager of the year awars, the manager of the year has been given to the title winning manager 17 times. Of the only 4 times in which it wasn't given to the league winner, two of them just happened to be the years when we won the league.

Nope, both were GPC missing out I believe, once to Craig Burley when he did implausible well with an Ipswich side built around Richard Wright and Titus Bramble iirc, whereas Twitcher got it for getting top 4 with Spurs I think.

surely if the stats etc are so close between costa and aguero, as a fellow professional footballer you'd vote for the one less likely to break your nose with an elbow or leg with a stamp.

I find the nomination of de Gea interesting. It shows how Utd have relied on him to get them out of trouble time after time, yet they're up there near the top. It reflects the balance of play of their games.
