Gareth won’t play him til he’s 28.
Selfishly, that would be good for City! And, it will certainly help his injury record...as half our injuries seem to come from into breaks, playing games that mean absolutely nothing!

Foden is a 10,thats where he plays his best football and thats where he should be deployed and developed,if all falls into place he could be a megastar in the role.

He's actually very good on the right as well, hes got the pace and he cant beat people 1v1 for fun with his ball control, especially near the byline.

He wouldn't be the first #10 to start out there as he breaks into the first team, David Silva, Iniesta, Cazorla, Mata all played out wide when they came through - gives you a bit more time and space as you get up to speed.

I agree, also a wide role allows a young player to make mistakes that are not so crucial. A wide player with intelligence, which he certainly has, can pick the right moments to come inside. I have also been surprised with the acceleration he has with the ball at his feet. His ability to take the ball on the half turn can also be utilised out wide.
Ultimately though it will be as a central player that he will become a star.

Now that we have qualified for the knockout stages, do y'all think there is a chance Pep will give him a start against Shakhtar or Feeyonord?

He played all the kids against Celtic last year but I think his respect for Sarri means he will be hesitant to play a weak side and throw the game against Shakhtar.

If Napoli lose or draw to Shakhtar next round it might all be over though, so in that instance of expect a repeat of Celtic.

His respect for Sarri will mean he would want Napoli out so would be happy to play the kids! We have a big squad so it doesnt need to be a fully changed team but would be amazing to see Foden play.

Pep's a professional and I'm damn sure he will field a team which will try and beat Shakhtar but we have a match against Utd shortly after I'm equally sure that the team will not be the same as for the Utd match and I know which one will be the stronger on paper.
