Really special talent. Makes it even better he’s blue through and through.

Barcelona have a culture where you have to link the academy to first team. Their fans and hierachy demand it. We don't have that culture thus don't expect it - Pep was brought in with the idea he would but he's disappointed me in that aspect.
One big difference between CIty and Barca which makes it a fair bit more difficult to bring players through is that they have a b team where the players can be blooded playing the club way with a team playing non age restricted football. City do not.

As Pep says its a very long season and I think Phil will get ample match time this season....even for the national team as where at City we have riches in his position, England do not.

Easy as fans to grow a little impatient and with him being a local blue that is going to be more so. Fortunately we have a manager who knows a thing or two about bringing the odd youngster through to the very pinnacle of world football. I reckon he will get it right in this instance again. The lad looked very much at home when he came on this afternoon. He should have scored and will no doubt be quite annoyed not to have done so. I very much doubt he will have to wait too long to get his first goal.

Who was the last Barca academy player that broke into the first team?

This guy looks like he can run with the big boys, glided round the pitch yesterday. Lovely little stand up to the back post for Bernardo, he didn’t panic in his decision making and try to fizz it across goal. Then was unlucky not to score himself, will have given his confidence a boost no end.

Looking forward to seeing him and also Mahrez play midweek as I bet the pair of them will want to be back on the pitch as soon as possible to show why they should both be in the managers thoughts.

Who was the last Barca academy player that broke into the first team?

Last player is the most recent, Riqui Puig (19 years of age) - he will alternate between the B side and first team (Likely only CDR and traveling for CL). Roberto was promoted to the first team under Guardiola in 2010. Since then many have broke into the first team - Rafinha, Munir, Aleñá, Samper, Cucurella & Miranda

Not to forget all the B team players that left early - Sergi Gomez, Mboula, Adama, Deulofeu, Lee Seung Woo, Palencia, Garcia & Bernabé among the more well known

He came on and looked the equal of the world claas players on the pitch. Patience is key as we have a potential world star, from Stockport, on our hands
