Phil Foden to leave England camp

I don't think anyone on here is saying he showed good judgement or what he did was 'right', just that it's pretty standard for a 20 yr old. I'm not sure why some folk think being extremely fit and kicking a ball incredibly accurately somehow gives you more common sense than anyone else your age?

But it isn't standard is it,not every 20yo is so thick that they would be led by their dick whilst on your first international trip nor is it to do with anything else you have typed.

I fully understand that 90% of footballers are thick as fuck but how many of them out of the hundreds that have played for England have been caught sneaking birds into the hotel?

That's how pretty standard it is.

I am not having the same argument in two different places, pick this one or the other place the choice is yours.

They are 18 and 20. You can't make young men old whatever they do for work.

Maybe having a baby would make a young man grow the fuck up.

Cheating, or in this case possibly cheating, on the mother of your child is not ‘laddish’ behaviour, it’s a cunts trick.

I don’t see why so many people are trying to defend Phil over this. He’s been a dick, deserves his punishment and will hopefully behave better in the future.

Being an international sportsman, it comes with the territory that you are a public figure and always in the public eye. I'm sure with his time at the club, behaviours will have been frequently discussed with him.
I don't dispute any of this, but you can't impart common sense and maturity from a bit of a talking to without experience and learning from mistakes, otherwise being a parent or teacher would be a peace of piss. I'm not saying he didn't do wrong, but it 's just fairly standard. Most 20 yr olds behave like this - with probably a few drugs, smokes, crashed cars and fights along the way.

It's not to do with being thick, it's to do with being young. As for being led by your dick as a 20 yr old surely that is fairly standard?

Foden portrays this angelic faced kid, but he's basically a cheeky scally who's really good at footy. He has the traits to become a top pro ie: so far never seen him near a bottle or bar getting leathered, seems to have good relaxing hobbies like fishing, and looks after his folks. Nice to see.

However, this isn't even the first warning during COVID. He had that beach incident where he's played footy with some lads and then had a group photo. This emphasises how much he doesn't give a fuck. The gold chains, shaved stripes in his head, shite designer clobber suggest he's getting a bit full of himself.

He's had the right to be confident on the pitch but off it he's letting people down. Looking through https://www.instagram.com/philfodenmcfc/ fan account, it's really shit seeing him hold his little boy like a loving dad, then risking health and his relationship over this. He might not get to father that kid properly if he carries on like this.

Oh, I thought they moved on from Sterling after the Chelsea fan abused him live on the TV and then people started suggesting they were no better themselves with their reporting about him.

I thought it had precious little to do with his football tbh

Okay, well you have your view why and I have mine.

I think they all combined at a similar point, but all I know is if Sterling continued to have iffy games, he'd not be out of the headlines for one reason or another.

So, how often have you met him?

I will simply disagree. I have known and worked with many young uns with maturity well beyond their years

On that score, he was iffy after the Gomez incident all the way until we got restarted and then he was back on fire after lockdown.
