Greenwood was stupid, putting his teammates at risk and showing a complete lack of regard for their safety. Foden a smidge worse as he has a wife and kid at home. Sending them home followed by the public embarrassment was punishment enough in my mind.

No they aren't married. Some people are saying that he will have to pay her maintenence if they split are talking bollocks.

THe difference is that they weren't already on England duty at the time but were still their respective clubs' responsibility. It's a small difference I grant you but still big enough for the FA & Gareth Southgate to hide behind apparently.

You're just removing the context from both situations. Not all punishments are equal because not all indiscretions are equal.

Phil and Greenwood got a harsher punishment for obvious reasons.

Not so obvious to me. They all had an England match in the near future and there were women at both incidents. Just by numbers attending the party boys were at more risk.

Fair point. I was just questioning whether there is a grey area that the FA need addressing. For me if Southgate calls you up then that’s the point where you don’t break the rules relating to Covid regardless of whether you have joined up or not..if Foden/ Greenwood are treated differently then it would be good to know why and on what basis

Oh ok. So they aren’t married. Every time I saw ‘wife’, I thought that he walked down the aisle quite early. Not that there’s anything wrong with marrying young.

I feel like such happens (paying maintenance) when a baby is involved. Outside of a child being involved, any sort of payment would be ludicrous.

The difference seems to be whether they were on or off duty.

assuming that it is allowed ordinarily to have visitors to your room is that strictly true?

its the breach of the bubble and putting the other members of squad at risk that was the issue with foden.

Problem is with Southgate if he keeps on punishing players left right and centre he will not have any players left , he's a two faced **** , if McGuire,Foden and Greenwood have not been up to Southgate's and the F.A. high standards then neither have Chilwell and his mates. Southgate was always the easy option/ yes man that England needed , he's a puppet with zero ability as a coach.
