If that last par is true it makes it worse. There's a difference between a stupid snap decision, say to go and visit someone you have seen in another part of the hotel, and a pre-meditated event. They could be banned for a while by the FA over this. I don't understand why some fans still think this whole episode is just a joke. This could well damage City's season (as it did with Stones) Pep, who lost his mum to Covid, will be appalled.There is a reason no one is questioning the set up of the FA because the players involved knew the rules, an isolated floor in the hotel has been booked for them and yet two grown adults decided to ignore this, abuse their managers trust, put other members of the squad and the match itself at risk.
It's also being reported now, that a hotel room outside the bubble was specifically booked by the players. The persons deserving of criticism are the players themselves.

That’s why the FA should’ve booked an entire hotel to ensure a complete 100% bio secure hotel. Again I refer to the cricket, all England games have been played in a complete bubble, hotels at OT & The Rose bowl where both kept empty to ensure this, you take away the risk factors, that’s what a professional outfit would do! I am, as well.Ah not read that mate, i thought it was in their hotel room where they were staying with England. I'm gutted for him, how buzzing he was to be picked and then play. Must have brought him back down to Earth fairly rapidly all this.
But, even if Greenwood was driving him to do this (and we obviously don’t know if that is true; could have easily been the opposite or a completely mutual decision), he wasn’t being forced to do it and could have put his foot down and said they weren’t going to be doing anything of the sort.
As I said to @grim up north before, my disappointment comes with being involved in the confirmed breach, full stop. The other tawdry details are of less interest to me.
