We have our own prospects, pity the rags have no faith in their FA Youth Cup winning defenders and have instead bought their "local" defenders for the next ten years.

Him and VK were the best two players on the pitch at the swamp, he certainly wasn't being protected by Vidic that day because he was their best player. Looked pretty good to me although I did see him have a bit of a mare in one match shortly after, can't remember who against.

Never said they would be, though we don't know how they'll turn out. By the time the guys they're replacing are finished, Baconface will know if they are good enough and if not, he'll just buy again.

I doubt there overall spend will top £30 million.

Jones had a good game against us at Ewood, impressed by him, but Moreso impressed by Samba who i'd much rather have than Jones.

Much more to offer than Jones, sure he has had issues but he's still young and we've seen glimpses of what he has to offer, I mean shit he played in a team that whopped Englands ass in the World Cup.

Decent player can play midfield as well. For £16 million he looks good value for me. IF we were going to sign another defender and take a chance on an english player I would go for him over Cahill any day of the week.

Personally I think the likes of Boatang and Boyata will prove to be every bit as good at centre half. Providing we keep them that is.

My honest opinion is we dont need anymore centre halfs. We have Kompany, Lescott, Boatang and K Toure (After the first few weeks of the season) We also have Boyata who already looks comfortable in the prem and can play right back and Richards who can play at centre half and right back.

What we do need is cover at left back , cover for Silva, A Johnson and a replacement for Viera.

Amazing what winning does - I'm seeing our rivals snap up players and it gets me antsy and nervous and questioning what we're doing!

Then I realize it's June 8 and every player going to Liverpool and United have signed so far have been vastly overpriced and not that good.

A decent rumour with some legs wouldn't be the worst thing, though :)
