I don't remember anyone wetting their knickers in glee when he played for Blackburn.

Actually, he was getting rave reviews during his last season with Blackburn. The 'New Terry' he was labelled by some. He looked very good and i'm sure a few posters on here wouldn't have minded him joining. Now he's playing for a much better/bigger team (than Blackburn) with better players around him and he's not 'standing out', he's being labelled as shit. That's the difference. Too many people listen to the ridiculous media machine we have in this country and rate players based on their 'opinions/assumptions'.

Is Phil Jones world class? Is he fuck.
Is he a good player? Yes
Is he a talent that could get much better? Yes

Just because he plays for 'them' and gets hyped up by bbc, sky et al doesn't mean you should dismiss his ability. We all know every up and coming young player is over praised these days. Also, he doesn't seem to be one of these players who thinks he's mustard already either.

Thought he looked excellent at Blackburn and really wanted us to go in for him. He seemed to start very well at united but looked pretty poor against us in the cup match. Not really watched him much since then but I assume he could go on to be a top player as long as playing at that shit hole doesn't ruin his career.

In 3 years time, the likes of Jones, Smalling, Rafael, Fabio, Cleverley & Welbeck may very well be very good players. It's hardly a long shot that they will be tbh. So as for rebuilding a good side, you can't argue that they aren't rebuilding one.

In 3 years, Smalling will be world class, Jones will be the next O'shea/Phil Chuckle, dunno about the pube head brothers and Cleverly will be playing in the Championship! it says it all when Ben Watson gets a game ahead of you.

Phil Jones is miles better than Phil chuckle or O'Shea.
