I watched the game on ESPN, and I could hear Aris over the City crowd the entire match, even after the final whistle. It was embarrassing, frankly. Seen very few fans that travel that well.
You can't be too disheartened about it, they're the Messi's of the fan world. The scariest thing is they're not the best crowd either, that's a huge ongoing debate though.

That's a total myth, goto a Greek League game and they get around 11k on in a 22k capacity stadium. They are great fans but they don't fill their grounds, they are just great fans at big games. Next week though they'll be back to normal.

We've only won our league 3 times (before WWII) and the greek cup once in 1970.
41 years without silverware. Been relegated twice in the past 15 years.
Does that remind you of a similar case? You'd better compare in equal measures.

Besides, everyone's broke in this country and we run this club on our own, Aris
is solely funded by its fanbase. It's a miracle we fckn exist yet we're still there,
getting stronger, it's true love.

You also have a considerably better grasp of the Enlish language than the majority of the people on this board!!

Anyone else getting rather annoyed at the blues watching in the USA and Canada saying they were "embarrassed" or "shameful" of the City fans last night when they watch on TV?

Fuck them

A fair few of them aren't English or have English family. Has something happened the last few years that would put us in the spot light and make us the team of choice for overseas "fans"?

Money..

Good effort mate in having a go but to honest with you'd I would get a refund on the megaphone as i was stood directly 4 rows in front and struggled to here you
But like I say credit to you for having a try
Also I think you picked a wrong night to do it because you were up againt the aris fans
Plus for cup matches in 111 you get a lot non regulars in that block who dont really know the songs and start songs wrong like singing the famous man united and on are way the city sing!!!!

Some lad sat behind me last night was singing Istanbul, Istanbul, and the famous man united. Knew he wasn't a regular like as all the normal guys were behind me as usual. No matter though, he still seemed to have a good time.

Its a different culture. I was in 211 last night, right next to the Aris mob. Yes they were excellent, full of energy and life, but it was totally orchestrated by three guys at the front. The difference is, the majority of their fans don't really watch the game, its all about the occasion.

With english fans as soon as the ball gets in either final third then songs fizzle out as people start to egg the team to shoot etc. Watch at your next match - songs start up after some exciting moment (an attack, a good tackle etc) and only keep going if there is nothing going on on the pitch. The exception to this - which kind of proves the point above, is when there is some really good banter chanting between us and the away fans, and sometimes that then takes over what is going on the pitch.

Having said all that, we are really stuffed by not having a decent mob in one stand as we all know.
