i used to love it as a kid when the flag went over my head, happy times

The flag was bought from the proceeds of the fanzine Blue Print.
It was kept in Frank Newton's cellar and brought to games in the back my Ford Escort Estate. Couldn't see out the back window, with the back seats put down it could only just fit in!
I'd park on the Kippax car park and the had to spend time getting about 10 lads to give me a hand taking it in, rolled up like a long fat snake. On many times we would sneak little kids inside it and they would be passed over the turnstiles for a free entrance.
Getting fans to help carry it back was more difficult (especially if we had lost.)
It would rip each time we used it and would cost around 100 quid a time to repair.
We hoped to bring it to the first game of the new Kippax but the club wouldn't allow it because it didn't have a fire certificate.
Eventually it got moldy and rotted away in Frank's damp cellar and was eventually thrown in a skip :(
