Pictures of City and United fans from the 70's

God almighty they haven't changed, what a bunch of scruffy fucking knackers they were. The City lads were far better dressed, especially the young punks and cool cats.

Take it like the rest of the city fans you didn't stay there too long after the first pitch invasion. Most city fans ended up in the paddock ... can still remember the United fans going mental as they realised they were going down irrespective of the result. Happy if scary day.

How many did we have there that day? Was the scorboard behind the goal and where was the paddock?

This should serve as the ultimate warning of just what can happen if you, er, "mess about" with your siblings.

There were plenty of them like that, note the YNWA patch on his keks, doubt you'd buy one from the megastore like that today.

I imagine his nemesis bitd would have been Pete the Badge.

Interesting to see again the ends fans went to identify themselves with their club.

The rise of the replica shirt put an end to the more outrageous regalia.

Seen a few in Germany who go for the patch covered denim tho.

I was in the scoreboard end when the scum got relegated. When Denis backheeled them into oblivion we roared in delight only to get all sorts of stuff hurled at us from all directions as the twats tried to get to us.
It calmed down then they scum came over the fences.
I'll never forget Mick Doyle, what a god, just daring them to touch him.
Saw a copper in the stand to our left go down and get a right kicking.
We stayed there until the ref abandoned the match then went home, scarves carefully concealed!

Never been back to the swamp since.
I want nothing to ever get in the way of the memory of Denis and his back heel.
