Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang

Oh well I'll look like a right mug among my friend circle if this deal falls off.

Long time lurker, first time poster... Had to give my 2 cents on a song. Massively looking forward to the possibility of this guy!

Pierre Em Erick, Aubameyang
Pierre Em Erick, Aubameyang

Song has come into my head ever since I first heard of the guy, fits perfectly IMO?

It's been settled for a while; just legal smallprint shit being finalised.
Dortmund colours too!

Not taking anything personal, mate. Most of the people calling for Silva to be shipped out spend most of their day chatting bollocks and trying to wind people up, I don't take them too seriously. You seem to actually have an idea about football, that's why I'm curious on your stance with Silva.

It's going to be horses for courses next year. We're not going to play the same shape and the same personnel in every game, we're going to change based on the opposition.

As I said to SWP, I'm not suggesting DeBruyne hasn't got a big part to play. I'm sure he'll be very important for us. But this repeated suggestion I keep seeing that Silva isn't going to be suited to playing in a Pep team, is completely wide of the mark in my view. He probably won't play much as a winger in a 433, but if he can get injury free he'll be a very important player for us for a while yet.

I agree on the flexibility, the strength in depth next year (should the transfers come off), is going to be the envy of most of Europe, different permutations, tactics etc, this is what I'm more excited about, I love chess and the adaptability of game during the event, not after.. Peps ability to change our identity is probably going to be the single most important event since the takeover as it is a vision of 20 years down the line...

I'm not saying silva is finished either, he'll have his part to play determined by the opposition I guess.... However, what we can both agree on is that next year is going to be immense for those who enjoy the tactical side of the game....

To get back on topic, where do you see Auba playing?? Personally I can see him in behind aguero on occasion, with sterling and KDB interchangeable, those three can all play wide and as a number 10, will send a few dizzy if it's how I think it will be!!

Even with Aubameyang added we'll still need to add at least 1 more striker. Our current options are Aguero, Bony, Iheanacho and (potentially) Aubameyang, which means for 6 weeks, from Christmas onwards, we'll have Aguero only as the other 3 jet off to yet another African Cup of Fucking Nations.

It would be a big signing if it happens. I just want to know what way we going to play if we do sign him. Kun and him up front together looks great but Pep would generally play with 1 main man up front with the wingers up high. Does it mean that 1 is going to playing out wide or not it is a huge decision to make who to start central with Kun constantly banging in goals I dont think he be happy out wide. In Pep we have a great manager just cant wait to see how we go with him and in charge and what tatics we go with.

Aubameyang isn't going to play behind anyone. His game is all about being on the last defender's shoulder and his biggest weakness is his technical ability on the ball. Playing him behind Aguero would make no sense, he lacks all of the attributes you want in that position.

It's much more likely he's either shunted to the wing, like Pep has done before, or Aguero (who dropped deeper and deeper looking for the ball last season, and is miles better at dribbling and passing) plays off Aubameyang instead.

Aguero looked great when played a very similar role when partnered with Bony last season. He'd run the channels or drop deep and pick the ball up, look up and see....Bony miles away from the box and doing nothing good.

But his individual performances were great, and with a good strike partner it might actually be effective.

No we don't. Iheanacho and Aguero will do for that time. There is no way Pepe would have 4 strikers in his squad. 3 is already a strech. He only had Lewandowski at Bayern. With Muller filling in when needed. I'd imagine Auba would play wide most of the time that he is on the pitch with Aguero.

Can't imagine Bony will be here by then, and Nigeria haven't qualified, however that still means we might have to make do with Sergio (and his injury record) and Kelechi. Maybe we'll use Sterling/KDB as back up strikers if needed. Or get Milner back.
