To be honest that's pretty much how I feel too. Sure we lost out to Chelsea, but I'm not sure that we were wrong to hold our position re agents fees.

I detest the fucking leeches. Bring nothing to the table football wise imo other than being conduits / or not for transfer deals, and escalating the costs .

I supported the decision at the time, but was absolutely gutted we hadn't got him, especially when he tore us a new arsehole at thetihad, but then a week later, when we had a stronger team out, he was nothing.

I suppose Messi could be criticised just the same from time to time, for his outfield work, if it wasn't for the fact he scores pretty much every week ;)

Hazard is not going to be Messi, as I once thought he might.

I'd rather we just paid once and bought proper. The difference between our apparent first and second choice players has been enormous.

I'd much rather we bought Hazard and paid his agent fees than messed about with Sinclair and the likes of Zuculini that never improved the first team.

Last year we did it better than the previous year with aiming for first XI signings, even though some haven't been immediate successes.

I hope we don't Once again resort to settling for a bunch of 'decent' options that we regret for the next 2-3 seasons.

I'm sure Chelsea don't regret signing Hazard. They'll make a very decent profit if they sold him after winning the league and Champions League with him.

it looks like some no mark Italian tweeter journo has come out after first saying we were bidding for him and then said that we don't want to pay his wage demands nor his agents demands.

TH says its a bullshit story just to attract attention and no bid (as far as he knows has been made - he has little info on Aubamayang anyway)?

So basically nothing has happened and we haven't made a bid and no one knows if we even will?

Hazard hasn't won the Champions League. He won the Europa League with them. Fair point of view though.

He was the player I wanted, more than any other, but nowardays I'm not sure he's good enough & scores enough goals, to merit his 'when it suits' way of performing. Fantastic on his day but needs to score about 20 goals per season to be worth bending over for imo.

This makes no sense. Hazard was never a goalscorer and never will be, why would you expect 20 goals?

Didn't we claim agent fees for Isco, and it turned out he just wanted to join Real? IIRC wasn't it the same with Hazard? Hard to believe his agent is letting exorbitant agent fees scupper an otherwise lucrative move.
