I'd have thought he'd have a few years left yet before losing his pace as long as he doesn't pick up too many injuries. I'd presume whoever makes the decision to stump up the cash. You pay that amount and you want a world class player for 5 years.

At almost 70 M, no way is this a good deal. Auba is 28 in June.

This is the type of signing I would expect us to make a few years ago. Just a really expensive short term fix. We have evolved as a club.

Signing him on probably a 5 year contract on large wages is not a good move. Buying him and selling Aguero would be going backwards IMO.

Griezmann would be a much better buy at a similar price.

Griezmann would be my first choice too, though if we sell Aguero for what we pay for Auba, I think that is a step forward. For the record, I think Aguero is definitely on his way--that is not my personal opinion of him as a player. I just think HE will decide to move (or already has).

Maybe, I'm not a big fan of putting prices on players or wondering what value you should get in the market. Seems to me that the market is inflating at such a rate that it is a pointless exercise. Sure everyone always wants the best deal they can get but who is to say that 70 million quid gets you a world class player for 5 years? It got juventus higuain when he was approaching 29.

True. A player is worth what someone is willing to pay. If given the choice between spunking 70m on Auba or Dybala, I'd prefer Dybala

I obviously haven't seen enough of him. Most times I have seen him play his finishing has looked clinical.

Not seen much of dybala so no idea. Don't get me wrong I'm not saying I desperately want us to sign him, like Kiam says there are other areas that need sorting first but if Sergio leaves and pep thinks aubameyang is the man then for me the price isn't too important.
