It feels like they're trying to make a show of their investments too, the transfer fees are way above the amount that they actually need to pay, and I can't believe they're that poor negotiators, so I can only assume they want to be seen investing as much into football as possible, and to have the biggest signing possible.
 
Would be a good signing, any one of Griezmann, Sanchez and PAU would strengthen the side and give us another option.
