In common with a lot of people on here, I think Morgan is an arrogant twat and I'm more than glad he's gone to the States. However, as far as this issue is concerned I am completely in agreement with him. He was calm and professional in the face of an idiot just shouting at him.
I though his point of 11,500 gun murders in the USA vs 35 in the UK is probably one of the most pertinent statistics (or 'factoid' according to Jones) in this debate. But you should also add in the number of accidental deaths from firearms, as those are the deaths which will more than likely happen in the home and are also likely to include a lot of children. Anyone know what that figure is?
It is beyond belief that there isn't a groundswell of opinion among ordinary sensible Americans that universal gun ownership is just fucking dangerous and they should do somethng about it. Bugger the constitution, it was written hundreds of years ago in a time different to ours with different issues, dangers and problems - just get real. Why not re-enslave the coloured population, and take the vote off women if you want to protect the spirit of 1776?
