Pitch invasions

I never said how high the cliff was ;) Okay, let's say a bridge over a reservoir, because that's a regular occurrence. I do think some people lack the ability to see the impact of their actions to themselves and to others. Imagine being a steward at the game, probably young and low-paid, to suddenly face a horde of youths running toward you, they were probably warned beforehand and had been dreading the moment all game. Or the supporter mentioned earlier who had to miss the presentation because due to poor health they couldn't risk getting caught up with people pushing their way past them.

But people had fun so there you go. Personally I don't think there's a need to express one's joy in such a way any more.
I appreciate that certain individuals were affected but whether fans went on the pitch or not I imagine the matchday experience in general is very dangerous for the fan mentioned earlier. Each to their own but if it was okay to do after QPR I think Sunday was fine as well

The law has changed since then, though, as a result of incidents elsewhere and the way people behave differently now (camera phones, social media etc). It's amazing to think how the world has changed in just 11 years in that regard.

Come on your being silly now, clearly a difference between someone breaking into your house and what happened on Sunday
Is there, the people that own the pitch asked fans not to go on the pitch repeatedly. A few fans ignored that, went on but it's the clubs fault not those that ignored the request.

Absolute fucking cock jockeys the lot of them on the pitch. Let's take a selfie/video of us on the pitch so everyone will think we're cool and post it all over social media.

The amount of grown adults on that pitch carrying on like little children today was nothing more than pathetic. The same people then asking why they were on the receiving end of dogs abuse when they came back to their seats.

City should scower social media and ban any idiot that has it posted then they'll learn their lesson.
Chill, done and dusted in 10 minutes, jeez the state of some of the Victor Meldrews on here !!

You’d fine a steward who only earns £11 an hour?

Maybe, just maybe, the club directive to the stewards was to move away and not to tackle the 1000’s of fans who went on to the pitch good natured and peacefully.

Blame the club, not the stewards.

Have you been drinking? ;-)
He's fucking loopy...

I enjoyed reading that post, thanks for that. I mean it.

However, if you are invading the pitch because it is 'tradition', you've pretty much missed the point of a pitch invasion.

If you are invading it to take selfies, pictures of your kids on the pitch, vlogs on a stick, you've missed the point.

If you are invading the pitch to do a few staged shitty knee slides..

If you are invading the pitch to appear on TV..

If you are invading the pitch to try wreck the goal posts, to hold up a shitty banner, to take part in a look-alike contest, to protest ticket prices... you've missed the bloody point.

That's what yesterday's one was, all of the above. The only thing it wasnt, was a spontaneous outburst of joy and emotion. Which is pretty much the main damn point.

And it was obvious well ahead it was never going to be that, this year. It was anything from a piss poor failed attempt at recreating scenes from 2012, to a laughable embarrassment.

The rest, i.e arguing people are miserable, too woke, not working class enough, pitch invasions are good etc etc, is just deflection and a distraction.

Not one person here has said anything of merit about yesterday's one. The only positives noted are, it was fairly short and nobody got hurt. Wow, great!
Can we go for a pint, you sound fun...
