Pitch invasions

Of course you don't, i suspect you are a lot younger than me, so read my post earlier in the thread and it might suggest why it is an issue to some fans.

Not every match going fan is fit and able to invade the pitch and celebrate, perhaps I was when I was much younger, but never considered it, i did not invade the pitch at Maine Road when we won the play off Semi, I was not on the pitch at Blackburn. Now I am older I do consider others around me, the work I do has helped me appreciate why exclusion from an event is unfair and has consequences.

I don't want to spoil fans enjoyment of special moments, but when we won the league with 93.20 we had a motto of #together We should celebrate together and that means don't leave people out, no fan is anymore important than any other, respect other fans and let them enjoy the day as well.
I fell asleep to this...

I didn't see that post but the end of the day if people want to go on the pitch they will, and why not, the only way it will be stopped if they have police around the perimeter...but why ? Its football, its passion its tribal and with all sanitation in the world why can't you celebrate on the pitch ? I ask you that.
Thats your opinion and your entitled to it but the straight answer to your question of why ? is that the cub have requested fans dont go on the pitch. Its not really rocket science but a very easy request to understand.

If the club REALLY wanted fans not to go on it would have been policed around the perimeter not stewards HELPING people on, the club knew it would happy and were happy to allow it.

OK Mr Sleepy read my first contribution to the thread, if you can stay awake that long.

I have no idea how old you are, but do you remember Electric fences at Chelsea? Do you remember the clamour from the Govt to bring in ID cards for football fans, have you ever stood in the Leppings lane?

We live in times that are increasingly authoritarian, with a govt that hates the working class, they despise how live and the comradeship we have and they will gladly use pitch invasions to justify the latest laws they are pushing through.

I really do believe that these continual pitch invasions will bite us big time on the arse and I get why people do it, but really please make this the last time.

Yep BORING...

I think people are missing this point. The club HAS to ask fans not to go on the pitch at the end of a game, because the PL has told them to take all reasonable steps to stop it happening. That doesn't mean the club are worried the world will end if it happens. It's just a defence mechanism against a PL charge. I imagine it's the same with discussing seriously with the police, stewards and City Matters.

In a nutshell, when the inevitable inquest is held the club can say it took all reasonable steps to make sure it didn't happen, whilst not actually ensuring it didn't happen.

It's the same as with the Liverpool "love-in" this year. It drives the fans mad but it's pretty clear the two clubs have been told by the PL to cool it, so the club has no option really but to apologise for anything and everything that could cause offence.

The club successfully prevented a pitch invasion on the last game at Maine Road.

They know how to do it already.

One line of stewards. One extra line of police. All around the pitch. Zero gaps. Back then the risk areas were the North Stand and Kippax AA Lower. More police were there. Now it's the whole pitch is a risk.

Not rocket science. I don't think they wanted to stop it. They love the "scenes" and "Limbs" (new fan lingo)

You can't please everyone. Very divisive.

Last time I went on the pitch was Blackburn away. Never felt the need since then and now I can't.

As they knew it would happen and didn't try very hard to stop it.
