Do we know if he is match fit? Has he been playing at all recently?

According to Manchester Evening News reporter Stuart Brennan he's had some injury problems this season but seems ok now. AS Roma fans are apparently unhappy at decision to let him go.

Hearing he should be a good match in play and style with Silva, Aguero and poss Nasri and considering he's on laon, he pushes the game up the middle of the pitch (Yaya style but less power and more skill) and has puts more of his football into creating good passes and driving the ball forward for attackers, Mancini has faith in him and Pizarro understands what Mancini wants (time at Inter), he's a veteran so probably will be tactical on the pitch ... all in all top sign IMO!! (just as long as he's fit)

have faith in Roberto!!

Pointless signing with all the options we have in midfield we would of been best off looking at a central defender or forward on a short term loan. I would be shocked if he plays much football here.

What midfield options are these then? We have noone of his ilk at the club, and just three players who can play as a central two. Midfield has long been the area we have least options.

why are we trying out a 30 + something year old, who is he gonna replace cos all the players we have in midfield are better than him, if we need cover for yaya we chose de jong or milner, whats the point in buying him when we could just try using razak or use the players we already have

also I have lost count of the number of times Aguero and Nasri have got into great positions but we have no one in midfield capable of picking them out.

Really?

Hmm.... thats not what I saw in other forums that I read. Most weren't too sad about his departure but acknowledge that he was a top player for them. Most only had problems with him due to his injuries.
