PL charge City for alleged breaches of financial rules

Genuinely don’t understand the concern. The money Everton have lost is far great than the amount we’re accused of concealing and they’ve made zero claims the figures are incorrect.

It’s like compared apples and memory of Vera Lynn.
I’m sure those facts will be repeated by all of those click chasing morally corrupt journalists when reporting on this! Haha!
Of course you’re correct but the truth hardly seems to matter in todays world of reporters who tend to lack honesty and integrity.

Isn’t the crux of the City case £30 million from Etisalat split over two seasons? We were posting £150 million losses around that time so the club hardly gained an advantage in meeting financial fair play. Everton’s cousins across Stanley park invented a fake stadium to put £50 million on their balance sheet and failed FFP, they seemed to get an easy ride at the time.

Found it funny that an Everton fan on Talksport was saying for us to go to the Conference League

Clearly taking it well

The only question would be what effect has it had on the attitude of would be investors, sponsors etc. Has any company turned away because our accounts are false?
I think the answer is no.
New sponsors will surely have flagged this during due diligence. I can't imagine that they would not have been made privy to the evidence to support our claims.

Cue the onslaught of clubs behind the scenes picking up the phone to the PL today asking about us.

That’s made me a bit nervous, though. Although when was Everton’s investigation announced? That deduction seems to have come quicker than ours…
During the King's Speech on Monday, Rishi Sunak announced the creation of a new independent regulator for football.

There's NO WAY the Everton ruling & that policy announcement aren't linked, just like the charges against City being announced hours before the Government announced it was setting up an independent football regulator.

Everton had clear financial losses. According to my limited understanding, City are accused of funneling money from HRH into related party companies, who disguised these funds as City sponsorship, so our historic losses would keep us within UEFA FFP rules.

We've already faced judgement on these charges & won on appeal, apart from City not being helpful enough in assisting UEFA to sink us!

Again it's my understanding the Premier League are charging us with many of the issues we beat last time, so evidently double jeopardy doesn't exist in football, or WILL IT with a new independent regulator due between now & the next General Election?

The plot thickens!

We're comparing apples and oranges.

From what I've read Everton sold the rights to actually have the right to offer a bid for naming rights for the new stadium to the owner. This was put on the balance sheet as income to avoid heavier losses.

Not even related party transactions as the accusations seem to be against us - just a complete falsification of income.

As the major apologists of FFP MANUre and the Dippers will have made sure that a financial slap on the wrist rather than a season changing deduction of points was just enough to show people that all clubs are equal under FFP regs! I'm pissing myself writing this!!

If you truly think that City haven't lost out on millions in sponsorship and merchandise because of 10 years of shit throwing you have lost the plot.

With the team, goals scored and style of play that we have been playing under Pep all kids who 'glory hunt' should be running around in City kits. Here in Norfolk it is still Utd, Liverpool, Chelsea and Arsenal shirts with just a few City kids here and there - and almost no City merch in Sports Direct etc.

Without all the shady news stories etc we truly would have captured the next generation of fans all over England, and the club would be in an even better position.

Everton’s charges were announced a month after ours. Their hearing date was announced in August I think, surely if the Premier League are confident in their case they should be well on with it. We haven’t heard anything since February 2023, not even who will be sitting on the three person panel. If they are confident of the case and they have the smoking gun in black and white, why is there a wall of silence?
In any case City now have a precedent case to work with to understand how the Premier League "financial sustainability" rules are applied and make the case appropriately.

From the BBC article

"The club will also monitor with great interest the decisions made in any other cases concerning the Premier League's profit and sustainability rules."

The pressure to punish us is going to be immense...

We'd better start preparing ourselves when that day arrives!

Everton say straight away that they will appeal

But I've read multiple times that there is no facility to appeal if we are found guilty

Which is it?

You read it wrong. You can appeal through the same process but not to an independent court - unless there’s been a clear breach of process or any irregularities.

Or maybe Norfolk folk are just thick as shit ;)

If they’re that transparent then they’re more amateurish than I initially thought. And that would take some doing!
