PL charge City for alleged breaches of financial rules

So Everton and Forest have admitted they are guilty of one charge, and the media want us to be treated the same even though we have 115 charges and have pleaded not guilty?
It's like me shooting a man and killing him...

You getting a speeding ticket...

But everyone wants us both to get the same punishment.

It's hilarious the fact people feel like Everton are being treated harshly! They are cheating bastards, They have admitted that they are cheating bastards.

They deserve whatever punishment is put on front of them.

Anyone any idea as to.why the date for the hearing has to be a secret?

Not sure anyone has said it has to be secret?

My impression was Masters simply couldn't say because he had forgotten what the date was.

However, it would be best if the date was kept secret as the media will ramp up the pressure and try and influence the outcome.

I'm not convinced of the impartiality of this hearing. The PL will be seen as fools if we're exonerated and I think they'll be keen to at least have some of the charges stick.

I mean UEFA's hearing was supposed to be impartial yet they found us guilty with no evidence of any wrong doing.

Not at all. The rules are complete bullshit to begin with.

It's like, one person shoots someone and another wears shoes but they both get done for murder.

Don't fall for it, the rules are fucked up, nobody deserves any sanctions providing they are not in debt.

How can one team be allowed to invest and another not be, but that is supposed to be a fair competition.

Brilliant thx for the explanation & the best article the athletic has written.

I suppose they didn’t mention in the CAS case for context no evidence of wrong doing.
The CAS case is not a direct parallel, because there are not only different standards but different legal thresholds for what could and could not be charged. The PL is, in some ways, more stringent.

The entire “utmost good faith” is hilarious when you consider this whole thing blew up because of illegally procured confidential internal emails, but then what does one expect anymore?!

Lol I been on another forum, it's fun. Apparently this blokes lives in Aldly Edge ( City players live there ) and he heard that City players are very worried about points deducted and relegation. The players are getting ready to leave !
same folks who predicted Pep would resign last season I imagine

Just a shame that the club can't come out and clarify a few points, but we've discussed this many times. I think it would take some heat off as well as boiling some piss against the real villans here.

It went to the trouble of explaining that FFP was set up to stop us yet couldn’t include that we were banned despite CAS finding no evidence of wrong doing.

Afaik (and I'm most definitely a KFA), our charges aren't really FFP related at all but more in respect of false accounting.
I sort of got that with the core charges- that are absolutely ludicrious. Either the world ISA standards are rubbish in PL eyes - or they accuse our auditors of being crooks. The proof will be fascinating and our auditors will fry the PL alive in the courts if they even try and prove it.

The rags are massively in debt, Everton are massively in debt. One gets fucked over, the other doesn't, the rules are a joke.

These rules wouldn't be allowed in any other businesses sector in the UK, these financial rules are corruption in plain fucking site.

Calling Everton cheating bastard's means that you agree with these corrupt rules. If you agree with these corrupt rules, that stifle spending then you are part of the problem, that supports the cartels grip on the game and the PL.

Or, they believe the Club lied to the accountants and auditors???

Everton and Forest submitted accounts that show they have gone over the allowed 105M deficit, imagine the skeletons they would uncover if they CSI the accounts of every PL club going back 14 years. Why always us? As Mario once almost said

No but the club finds itself in the firing line and we need something to change going forward. The jealousy is off the scale and the premier league is bought and paid for by Sky, Liverpool and United.

City need to be on a more level playing field behind the scenes. Plus the government are a corrupt greedy bunch so at least we know how to deal with them on that level. Mainly throwing money at the UK.

Currently we are being nibbbled at from all corners. Abit like a Komodo dragon biting its prey until they finally fall.
"The jealousy is off the scale"

I love it, the longer it last the more it motivates us as a club.

So a new independent arbitration panel would be formed if we don't like the verdict.

If for some reason the legal process seems off on the 2nd panel, we may have option of the high court. I know some journalists have stated this isn't the case but I seem to recall @projectriver saying it would still be an option.

For that reason alone any verdict made by the panel would have to be strong enough to hold up in court.

Iirc, the club can appeal to a second panel that is chosen by Rosen, and then they can also appeal to an actually independent tribunal where the club can pick an arbitrator and agree on the third (on certain limited grounds). Appeal to the UK courts is extremely limited, iirc, but not impossible. I imagine part of the club's legal team is already preparing the grounds for the various appeals should the decision be unfavourable under various scenarios.

I am sure there is enough cover to ensure there is no "rogue" decision, though.
