PL charge City for alleged breaches of financial rules

The PL have announced the phased termination of Betting companies as shirt sponsors. Along with our charges and Everton's it seems they are doing their utmost to look squeaky clean to avoid an independent regulator. Is it a strategy to give them negotiation power ? or do they really think they can stop the government white paper. I wouldn't be surprised if more clubs, apart from a certain gang of four, will get clumped any day now.

It's a bit shit though, no changes for years and clubs can still have betting logos on sleeves & around the pitch.

All a bit pointless banning them from the shirts when they're backdropped by huge flashing gambling adverts all around the pitch, sky sports 'news' drop the skybet odds into their reports and Ray Winstone is still telling us to lump it on the acca or cash aaaat at half time.

Bit like telling your kid they can't have a lollipop until they've finished their kilo of sugar lumps.

But gamble aware, of course

So party time? Or a tad premature?

The timeline from the legal eagles suggest two years at the earliest but if it’s all a load of bum fluff from the league then an early outcome would be great. Time to put away the noose…for now -:)
