Impossible to implement. All the stars would just fuck off out of the EU to south America or Asia and they would become the dominant force in football then.

The salary cap is the best thing about the American game imo, it ensures that smaller teams in smaller cities can actually compete.
It might be the case with a sport that's pretty much restricted to one country As someone right point out above, its too complicated when it applied across a continent with numerous standards of leagues, currency and tax regimes

The American game has to do different things because there's no promotion/relegation. Imagine how boring the whole thing would be without some form of handicapping system.

Same thing happened in rugby league when they brought the salary cap in. All the best players fired off to NRL or rugby union. Careful what you wish for eufa
