PL charge City for alleged breaches of financial rules

Why would they comment?

As far as they are concerned everything is great with all of us committed to City success, RM admitting our fans made Etihad a cauldron, expansion plans at the go stage, 2 Cups and a PL title almost within our grasp.
The media can snipe about whatever they want it has had only a catalyst effect on City progress.

Incidentally, I live in Spain and for the first time in my life here ordinary Spanish people are acknowledging our team as the best. The press are glowing in their praise and of course my mainly Barca fans are taking reflective praise from City's thrashing of RM.

All is good here in my part of Spain despite Mr Tebas? we are winning the global battle.

Despite racist cunts like Tebas, I’ve always felt that over the past decade or so City have been one of the more popular non-Spanish teams in Spain. All this talk of City and Chelsea being plastic clubs that fans of all other clubs don’t respect in any way doesn’t quite hold true when you speak to genuine fans of other clubs. I was in a bar in Madrid the night Chelsea beat Bayern in the 2012 CL Final. Most were locals and almost to a man they wanted Chelsea to win. Sure, I don’t expect us to be universally liked - successful clubs never are - but most of the hatred and vitriol is coming from dickhead journalists who are up the arse of the so-called “history clubs” (and Spurs!) and non-match going plastic fans of those same clubs.

Nothing personal, but I fear that’s real flight of fancy stuff. You honestly think the public, having been egged on by the rag and dipper stooges in the media for the better part of 5 to 10 years, will roll over and accept a closed doors fudge?

However this gets resolved is fuck all to do with the public mate, no matter how much they howl at the moon.

I would think that a lot of us would conclude that his professionalism would mean that he would not be biased, but.........

There is also the fact that the PL should be make every effort to ensure that their processes are not open to such concerns - he simply should never have been considered

It would appear that the PL is a little lacking regarding matters where its own integrity is concerned whilst keen to question that of certain clubs who are not amongst the favoured few.

It's not "115 charges" though. It's basically 5, but which cover a number of related rules over multiple years.

Charge 1 is about failure to provide accounts that give a true and fair view of the club's financial position relating to revenue and operating costs. This covers 50 combinations of rules/years.

Charge 2 covers failing to disclose player and manager remuneration. This covers 24 combinations of rules/years, 6 for manager remuneration and 18 for player remuneration.

Charge 3 covers failure to comply with UEFA's FFP. This covers 5 combinations of rules/years.

Charge 4 covers failure to comply with the PL's own Profit & Sustainability rules. This covers 6 combinations of rule/years.

Charge 5 covers non-cooperation. This covers 30 combinations of rules/years.

I guess it's possible that we could be found to have broken some rules under heading 1 in some years and not to have broken other rules in other years. But I doubt it. It's possible we could be found guilty of breaching the rules on player remuneration but not manager remuneration. But I very much doubt that we'll be found guilty of breaching some of the player remuneration in one or more years but not guilty in others.

Charge 1 looks very much like Charge 2 plus sponsorship agreements. I've said before that the PL will, in my view, struggle to land the sponsorship stuff, as did UEFA. Therefore in relation to financial offences it's mostly down to charge 2, I reckon.

If we're found not to have breached any of the rules in headings 1 or 2 in any of the years, then I'm 99% certain both 3 and 4 are both irrelevant, and the charges will fail by default.

The non-cooperation charges are probably the ones most likely to succeed, if any do. That doesn't mean I think they are likely to succeed but, like at CAS, are probably where we're in a comparatively weak position (although I think the issue of cooperation went to court, after which I assume we complied with any ruling).

While it's difficult to be confident without knowing the substance of the charges, I'd say it's unlikely we'll be found guilty of, say, 60 but not the other 55.

I what to hear the pl say that all clubs will be investigated as deeply as City.

That's it, do i think we are completely innocent, no i don't but i'd wager many other clubs have been up to the same shenanigans but just won't be investigated.

City have lodged a complaint because the premier league guy in charge of trying to fuck us over is a tarquin ****.

If we are so confident of getting the charges over turned it shouldn't matter what team he supports.

He should have replied "you should stick to commenting on things you know a little bit about, rather than things you don't understand". But he wont, because he needs him. No fighting the City corner when he gets kick-back. Still, a lesson learned I hope. Should never have engaged with the twat in the first place when he is in a servile position.
