PL charge City for alleged breaches of financial rules

We owe Pep so much , he’s elevated this club to dominance, I was happy enough after the Mancini and Pellegrini titles and thought then this is as good as it gets , this fella has torn the rule book up - it’s this manager who has turned us into what we are , the worlds best , playing breathtaking innovative football , I constantly get reminded of the football we have seen this year on social media channels , you’ve all probably seen it countless times - absolutely fucking stunning football , it’s going to be one hell of a come down when he leaves - but this guy has a legacy , that in my opinion will never ever be seen again in this country. He’s Cruyff on steroids , a visionary, total fucking football.
Apologies for the rant , but all of you , you tube or whatever media you watch , just watch the big performances this season - United x2 , Arsenal , Bayern , Madrid and of course Milan , I’ve never ever blown our trumpet outwardly before this season , but this season we have arrived , really arrived , the centurions was special , as was the the domestic treble , but this season will never ever be beaten in this clubs future history , and I’ve seen it in the flesh!
When you take stock of this season gone , lost for words , to see the emotions from Pep and the players as they made history. OMFG , what a fucking football club we are.
This season could be better we really are that good.

Agree with all that though I think it’s in the wrong thread.

After an hour of the usual suspects wittering on about emails the conclusion is football needs an Independent body. They don’t mention that only one club voted in favour of that Manchester City.

I have to admit it was slickly done though. Some money behind that.

Its also news to me that City chose the Chairman of the CAS panel. I’m pretty sure that was a neutral decision.

The funniest bit is when they show 12 vs 6 lawyers like that matters or it was a physical fight…..City won because they had more lawyers!
With regards the CAS Chairperson. City put a name forward. Uefa could have put another name forward. As far as I know, Uefa did not recommend anyone and did not object to the name City provided. Why they chose not to object to the name given by City is probably because they had no objections. The problem is facts always spoil a good story. This is why this detail rarely gets mentioned on the media.

I just don’t think we even did that. I don’t think we chose him at all? @projectriver

It will be a sad day when pep leaves. The credibility he gave us as a whole organisation is priceless. Him among others established a titan of a football club. Not only did we arrive but we blew the fucking doors wide open and pissed on the cartels rug.

My only hope is that he will leave us well equipped for the future. His legacy safe and his training methods continued. Hopefully we have 10 seasons or more to draw from and the experiences will help us deal with any situation football throws up.

After Khaldoon, Pep is the most important figure. He will not walk away lightly. History and legacy will continue to drive him. I know Barca is his boyhood club but city has been built in his image, his football brain imprinted on every decision. He will find it very hard to walk away.

Fingers crossed , but I agree , Pep evolves the team , he knows how to refresh , I see hunger in the squad , we ain’t done yet , tbh , I’d settle for back to back CL wins , we know how to do it now , and there will be nothing more special to do it in this country at Wembley next May.

I thought there was a shortlist of people possible.
I thought City suggested using one who was familiar with the case from an earlier CAS hearing (maybe the familiarity was hoped to speed things along), and UEFA weren't against having that person, so it was an agreement from both sides.

Maybe. It certainly wasn’t just our choice.

The fact that CAS’s neutrality is being called into question on that YouTube documentary is ridiculous.

I think the disappointment most people feel is that, this is the correct way to deal with something that is going through the courts. There would be a media embargo as well, but here we have a situation where the media seem to be fed by the same people who are pushing our charges and they seem to be allowed say what they want with impunity.

I am as certain as anyone on here that we are innocent, but I’m not as confident as some that, that is how we will be judged.
I don’t trust the PL and their process, whereby there is no independent body to appeal to, like CAS.
They seem to have all bases covered.
This is exactly where I am

There is no doubt in my mind - should fairness and objectivity prevail - we will be completely exonerated, but........

I am not expecting fairness and I worry that we might end up 'howling in the wind' for years about the unfair treatment - whilst the fans of the red shirt clubs exult

I even see this YouTube video as possibly part of an orchestrated campaign to set the narrative that suits them

No matter the reality - it will have confirmed in the minds of many people that CITY chose 2 of the 3 CAS judges and that is why we 'got off on a technicality'

I absolutely do not share the confidence of others that we will prevail against the orchestrated campaign - and I am normally such a positive thinking person

Tend to agree , how many times have we seen Pep in tears in our biggest triumphs? Never ever saw him like that at Barca , I think he gets us , the club , the staff from the very top to the bottom , openly hugging the physio staff , the kit lads and the ancillary staff behind the scenes , he will find it very hard to let go of the perfect footballing family so to speak - and this season especially, more so since his infamous press conference when he called them out , it’s transferred to the stands , and it’s been noticeable in the atmosphere’s at home , the place is rocking, some big big atmosphere’s that definitely for one scared the shit out of Madrid , it’s the perfect combination, let’s hope he extends after two more seasons.
