PL charge City for alleged breaches of financial rules

Maybe. It certainly wasn’t just our choice.

The fact that CAS’s neutrality is being called into question on that YouTube documentary is ridiculous.

We shouldn't ever be surprised about the claims made by our enemies, due to their total ignorance and jealousy.

I thought there was a shortlist of people possible.
I thought City suggested using one who was familiar with the case from an earlier CAS hearing (maybe the familiarity was hoped to speed things along), and UEFA weren't against having that person, so it was an agreement from both sides.
There's a finite list of approved arbitrators (about 60 I think) and a subset of those that were best qualified to adjudicate in our particular case (let's say 20). So the panel could only come from that 20-person pool. And two of those had already been picked, one by us and the other by UEFA.

The process was that someone had to suggest a name, with the other party having the right to veto that choice. Had UEFA vetoed our choice of Rui Botica Santos, and had both parties failed to agree on another choice, then CAS would have selected a chair.

Its like going out for a meal with your mates or wife.
You: "Do you fancy Indian, Italian or Chinese?"
Wife: "I fancy a Chinese."
You "I'm fine with that".

Then afterwards you complain that your arm was twisted, you didn't want Chinese and you'd rather have gone for a pizza.

This is exactly where I am

There is no doubt in my mind - should fairness and objectivity prevail - we will be completely exonerated, but........

I am not expecting fairness and I worry that we might end up 'howling in the wind' for years about the unfair treatment - whilst the fans of the red shirt clubs exult

I even see this YouTube video as possibly part of an orchestrated campaign to set the narrative that suits them

No matter the reality - it will have confirmed in the minds of many people that CITY chose 2 of the 3 CAS judges and that is why we 'got off on a technicality'

I absolutely do not share the confidence of others that we will prevail against the orchestrated campaign - and I am normally such a positive thinking person
They can’t prove anything without documented evidence which they don’t have. Interpretation of said documents don’t mean Jack shit.

All smoke and no fire me thinks. They set a financial trap and we expertly circumvented until a thief stole data and they tried to make a fictional account become reality.

Media orchestrate what we are supposed to think and feel by daily bombardment.

Don’t worry bout it -:)

If the evidence was as slam dunk as some of the journalists attached to this story claim it is then we wouldn't be seeing the snippets of emails out of context and the insinuations on a dodgy funded YouTube doc. We'd simply see the evidence. I don't think City have always had their noses clean during this process, especially in the early years, but I don't think the widespread corruption that some of this lot seem to take a priori is right either.

This.
YT video is to undermine the CAS verdict. Why?
With nowhere to appeal to the PL panel returning any verdict they choose, will be taken as red (sic)

The media will then endorse it and call for our blood.

Hope not, but it is not beyond the realms of possibility.

it’s laughable that the premier league are going after City who have been good for their product and pushed up how much they can demand for tv rights around the world. City have pushed up the standards of the league and provided the broadcasters with some iconic moments in title races that have happened over the last decade.

The clubs that want us fucked over, they couldn’t care about the premier league. United, Liverpool, Arsenal, Spurs they all wanted to push on with destroying the football pyramid across Europe and having a closed shop for themselves because non of them have come up with ideas to counter City’s growth since 2008. They wanted to kill off English football and have a Super league, this seems to be conveniently forgotten about whilst everyone froths at the mouth over £30 million quid was sponsorship or equity which didn’t exactly get City over the line when they were posting losses of £118 million. If City are supposedly guilty here what advantage moving forward did they have when the club has coughed up nearly £60 million in fines to Uefa?

What City are in the dock for is small change for what the rest of the so called big six have been up to. They haven’t received any sanction from the Premier league for attempting to destroy their product.

Agreed - I fear that the explicit intention of the YT video was to establish/strengthen the narrative that the CAS verdict was wrong and 'achieved' by CITY through a mixture of obfuscation to cause delays and compromising the integrity and make-up of the panel

Therefore if the PL panel come forward with some entirely biased / anti-CITY verdict and punishment - rather than the result be challenged and considered perverse - the majority view would be - well done - the PL showed more backbone than UEFA

Just hope that I am wrong

Even Jordan acknowledged it was a clearly one sided production. For me the fact they couldn't get the correct number of years of success between the takeover and 1976 might seem innocuous bit as a consequence how believable is the rest of it.
