PL charge City for alleged breaches of financial rules

Only 3 possible outcomes to this;

1. EPL prove their case, fines and/or points and/or relegation and/or titles stripped. Result - 50k+ crowds in League 2
2. Gets mucky, drags out, OVO go all the way and sue the tw*ts. Result - 3 or 4 more years of reputational stain, and owners double down on investment and quality in the meantime*
3. City get quick hearing and whole thing bombed out. Result - another year of sh*te, then back to where we are now

Personally I think it's 2 unfortunately ..

Couple of things do concern me;

1. Our statement did not say 'these allegations are categorically untrue', which makes me think they are going for the interpretation defense
2. *Owners have not released any statement to the effect of 'whatever the outcome, we are here for the long term' to give the fanbase assurances/boil the piss elsewhere. Might be too early for that, but would be nice to know our sponsorship deals in League 2 would rival Wrexham's :-)

One other consideration, this isn't just about Abu Dhabi - Silverlake, a US base globally recognized Investment firm own c20% of the group - EPL would ruin their investor friendly environment plan for the league that attracted the US investors initially and underpins the valuations of most clubs, unless that is the plan so Dippers and Pride of Singapore can get their target asking prices for their sales ..

Never dull ..

I am pretty sure we will be cleared of any wrong doing here.

However if I know one thing about our core fan base. We have never, ever, forgotten our roots, and those "Yo Yo Years" we older fans lived through. Tough skin fuckers we are. We know how to mobilize and deal with adversity.

A 2 League demotion and 20 point deduction would be turned in to "City On Tour" by our core fan Base and end up being a 2 year bender, fans hitting every boozer in the country. And enjoying every minute of it.

Tourists would be replaced by those that were priced out of the Stadium.

We would wear it all like a badge of honour.

What will be, will be, and we will still be there tomorrow in any worse case scenario.

Having spent a good portion of this afternoon reading the thread, I have gone through various emotions ranging from being pissed off, angry, sad that the club I love are going through this shit yet again. At times it has felt absolutely relentless. I came to the conclusion a long time ago that the people throwing all these allegations are nothing but hate filled, jealous sewer rats. They know they can't compete with us so they choose to try and destroy us. They will never succeed. Our club will continue, we will fight and will never be brought to its knees or destroyed. Our love for City will never wane despite all these fuckers with their hate filled lies and accusations.

It's never boring being a City fan : )
I've no clue what the outcome will be after all this.
My faith in a fair hearing from an 'independent panel' is somewhat lacking.
We've never been treated fairly since the takeover.
I will say the timing of this along with the postponement of the white paper fucking stinks.
Add to that these charges have all come off the back of hacked doctored emails.
It seems to me the premier league, driven by the hateful 8 have decided to show the government that they can keep their house in order and have chosen us as their example.
Whether that's a wise move time will tell.
It'll be a fun few years no doubt.
Them and us as it's always been.
I'll be here rain or shine.
"We shall fight them on the Brighton beaches
We shall fight them in away grounds
We shall fight them in the docks
We shall fight them in the swamp
We shall never surrender!"
AS long as we dont fight them at Spurs new ground or Anfield

Was a bit despondent this morning when the news first broke, but feeling a bit more bullish since reading the Simon Mullock article. Would love it if we prevailed again.
Most definitely, because this is the last of the investigations against the club. We were all delighted to win at CAS but this one stayed quietly in the background, just nagging away ever so slightly. Now it has come to the fore, we can face it head-on. I have noticed the change in mood from this morning. Despondency has been replaced by bullishness, optimism and defiance.

Exclusion is a no go. We have enough following now in the overseas market that they wouldnt want to damage the 'brand' or viewership. I think the same goes for stripping titles, it would be such a blow to the 'product'.

IF we are guilty of anything it will be point deductions, fines and transfer embargoes of future seasons i would expect. This would shackle us and allow the red teams a crack at bringing back the old top 4.

PS. i know fuck all
Transfer embargos would suit the FA as like Cheslea in 2019 a lot of (English) acadamy Players would have to start and could well break through. And therefore even more English PL players which has been a long time aim of the FA.
