PL charge City for alleged breaches of financial rules

Be assured people Like I’ve said you don’t cross a billionaire especially one who has the resources of a nation’s security services

KAM said we took a pinch once but never again

An internal email sent by City lawyer Simon Cliff recalled an exchange between Al Mubarak and Infantino, the documents showed.

"Khaldoon said he would rather spend 30 million on the 50 best lawyers in the world to sue them for the next 10 years," Cliff wrote, adding that this was a chance "to avoid the destruction of their rules and organization."

Among other internal correspondence from City published by Spiegel, Cliff said "UEFA doesn't respond to anything other than aggression" and a lawsuit against auditor PriceWaterhouseCoopers "could destroy the entire organization within weeks."

Have some of you got nothing better to do than keep harping on an on and on about this?
Wait till an official announcement is made, More important things to discuss ffs

More important than this! I doubt it.

Generally, finding something new to say about the subject is hard but the Everton punishment is new and while the cases may be different, the level of punishment meted out to Neverton is of interest. And, then, City aren’t playing this weekend so people are talking about this.

The City WSL side are playing the RGS now.

By "act on the information supplied" I hope you mean assert the validity of the reported information AND detect any suspicious data as well as uncover and report on any irregularities. An independent audit is not some exercise in rubber stamping reported data. If City were perpetrating fraud of this magnitude any high-end accounting firm would have been expected to uncover these irregularities in the course of their audit, let alone over a period of 10 years. So, yes, the PL would be ascertaining that the Auditors were incompetent or "in on it" which adds massively to the ridiculousness of the charges...

I fully understand what you're saying, but I think you've got me wrong.

If you're a huge company, do auditors go over every single invoice, even those in the petty cash for bog rolls & biscuits?

We have independent auditors who work with finance to go over everything & highlight any discrepancies.

My comment about relying on supplied data goes to issues like those affecting Donald tRump.

When years long fraud was uncovered, Mazars confirmed they were acting on information received & requested. They subsequently dropped him as a client & testified against him in court.

As a CPA you'll appreciate cooking the books can easily be done, especially when dealing with paper trails. Even in the days of electronic entries, where there's a will, there's a way, hence why there's an element of trust.

Oh so your family are not important
Well mine to me are, hence my op
Footie doesn’t rule my life

I love reading the "fuck em" and "the PL have nothing" posts but i just can't see us being exonerated and not being done over at all.
Not saying we're guilty of anything ,as like everyone else on here, i just don't know but i still think they'll manage to hang something on us, i don't trust those cunts at all.
You only have to look at Uefa and the CAS cases, we were found guilty on all counts and our name dragged through the mud, on appeal to CAS the charges were all overturned with the exception of none co-operation. It as clear as day why the none co-operation took place. But how many fans of other clubs feel we were innocent of the charges? very, very few. In most peoples opinions we "got off" due to technicalities and better lawyers. No thought of us actually being innocent of the charges we just "got off"

Fast forward to the PL charges, exactly the same, you can already hear it, better lawyers, bribes, backhanders, political pressure, technicalities. Have any of the media, opposition fans etc.. even contemplated the thought that we may actually be innocent, completely legit and above board? No.

If the hearing goes our way it will be "disgusting" and another example of our "blatent cheating"

The charges being raised was all they needed to do.

So the 115 charges are basically FIVE of the same charges repeated over a ten year period , and TWO of them look like non-starters , as for the non co-operation can you blame us ? We did the same with the UEFA withchunt because Gill & Parry were leaking all sorts of shit to the media, there was even supposed to be an inquiry by the UEFA ethics commitee over the leaks and that never happened.

Why do people write this shit. It’s absolutely nothing to do with the government now it’s all in the hands of an independent commission. I don’t believe Sunak has any influence on this whatsoever.
Sunak's announced an independent football regulator. That's about a big a bombshell the PL's ever had, hence why they're dead set against it.
