You only have to look at Uefa and the CAS cases, we were found guilty on all counts and our name dragged through the mud, on appeal to CAS the charges were all overturned with the exception of none co-operation. It as clear as day why the none co-operation took place. But how many fans of other clubs feel we were innocent of the charges? very, very few. In most peoples opinions we "got off" due to technicalities and better lawyers. No thought of us actually being innocent of the charges we just "got off"

Fast forward to the PL charges, exactly the same, you can already hear it, better lawyers, bribes, backhanders, political pressure, technicalities. Have any of the media, opposition fans etc.. even contemplated the thought that we may actually be innocent, completely legit and above board? No.

If the hearing goes our way it will be "disgusting" and another example of our "blatent cheating"

The charges being raised was all they needed to do.

If they are disgusted by our blatant cheating and bribing of the PL, then they surely will fully support an independent regulatory body to replace it.

Don’t forget that the UEFA disciplinary panel that found us guilty included Rick Parry, David Gill and some guy from PSG (Qatar). CAS who were actually independent found us not guilty. Enough said really.

Do you have inside knowledge that there is no “hard evidence”? Nobody on here has much idea what the evidence against us is, we know the charges but the evidence is only disclosed to City…two completely different things. My concern is that since the CAS verdict, the PL have got their hands on additional evidence which now merits them charging us and them feeling more confident about it. However, all the evidence they have needs to be made available to us ahead of the “trial” so there won’t be any bombshells dropped in court.

I have no hard evidence. Just an opinion.

A throw away comment by someone from the Prem.
Who said that PL could punish us on some of the stuff uefa couldn’t.

I think that comment was the first inkling that a PL investigation was going to take place.

My point being that there won’t be any surprises.
They are trying to dig a little deeper and jig it about a bit. Because some parts were time barred by uefa but not by the Prem. A lower burden of proof etc
And I would guess we had more than half our defence ready from the uefa trial.

Anyway…. You can’t argue with irrefutable

To be fair the amount of money is irrelevant, allegedly paying off the books is not a good look and arouses suspicion.

Nobody is ever sanctioned for not having a good look or arousing suspicion. The club just has to justify what is and isn't in its accounts. I am sure they can do that. Anyway, people like Mansour and Khaldoon, I imagine, don't do anything without tax and legal clearance.
