PL charge City for alleged breaches of financial rules

I'm happy to be proven wrong, but has the mayor of Manchester been as vocal at any point regarding City's treatment?

I get that he's a Scouser but a hugely successful football team in the city which he governs over is a big thing (massive, some might say).

Lucy Powell MP will fight our corner in Parliament. Incidentally she was in 93:20 on Saturday.

This bit from that Martin Samuel article is interesting...sorry if it has already been mentioned/discussed

"Jermain Defoe’s transfer from Tottenham to Portsmouth in 2008 is now being reinvestigated over the alleged use of an illegal agent.
That carried a points deduction when Luton Town did it but, at the time, the FA did not follow through on Defoe. In 2009-10, when the investigation was taking place, Tottenham finished three points above Manchester City to qualify for the Champions League. Can it now be argued that had Tottenham been deducted points, then City would have been in the Champions League a year earlier, their balance sheet might have looked different — Tottenham got to the quarter-finals — and they might not be facing so many charges? How far do we want to go back?"
I'm beginning to feel a little love for Luton.
They seem to be shafted on a regular basis.

That's supposed to be based on a set of guidelines, which aren't in the public domain, as far as I can see. But the commission made a point of saying it was ignoring the PL recommended guidelines when applying their punishment.

That statement doesn’t stand up to scrutiny though does it? Ignored the PL guidelines is easy to say but, then they imposed the sanction the PL were demanding? Masters has made it look likes he’s unduly influenced the process, even if he hasn’t.

I agree so why would they pursue it so vigorously with an expensive team of lawyers knowing full well they will have to try and prove fraud.
I'm beginning to think this is now sabotage of the PL by the cartel, it's the only way to achieve what they want a ESL.
Maybe but I can’t help thinking of a more simplistic approach. Uefa accused and charged us due to jealous clubs in Europe and at home with no evidence but flimsy emails.

The premier is following the same path. Football is loaded so hiring lawyers for a few years is a drop in the ocean. Tebas kept spouting the nonsense that everyone knew city was guilty of owner funding but time barred issues did not allow punishment and hence we got away with it.

The clubs in England have ran with this due to pressure and the hope tebas was right. They also need to appease the rags/dips and need to show tough regulations.

Smoke and mirrors. This is a business fight and nothing to do with sport. Competition needs to be destroyed hence the attacks.

Imo we give far too much credit to institutions like the premier league without foundation.

I wonder what Master's recommendation will be, as a penalty, to the in dependent panel?

20 point deduction each season for the next 20 years
Demolition of the Etihad Stadium
Training ground sold for social housing
Red shirts can sign any of our players on free transfers - since contracts are cancelled.
Pep deported to Rwanda.

You mention Tebas, wonder when he'll be praising Girona and it's owners for making la Liga more competitive.
