PL charge City for alleged breaches of financial rules

I think that pressure will be put on the government to get the regulator in place before the kangaroo court sits and replace the Premier Leagues disciplinary regime with that of the regulator. This would involve agreeing a sanctions policy with the Premier League clubs but implemented and enforced by the regulatory body.
There's every chance that the Labour bloke will be in no.10 before anything happens with our case...I've not heard anything to suggest his/their thoughts on a regulatory body. It may end up not being an important thing early doors when they see the countries books.

Sorry for a bit of Ben Elton in the thread.

and the Labour bloke is an arsenal fan

I'm certain that the panel won't be taking any potential geopolitical consequences into account and I wouldn't want them to either. We are either innocent of the charges after due consideration or we aren't. Why should we get away with something on the basis that our owner wouldn't invest billions in Sizewell if we were punished for example? We as a support base would be outraged if that was the case with a rival club so you have to be consistent.

Obviously I want us to be cleared and for this to finally go away but not on the basis of threats or undue financial pressure. I also think that people are over estimating the influence our owner could bring to bear on the UK government. Yes Abu Dhabi invests in UK projects but the country wouldn't collapse if it didn't.
I agree with this. However, if there’s a danger that we’re not going to be subject to a fair process then the government absolutely should be getting involved and warning the PL of the consequences of a biased investigation. The case should be judged wholly on the evidence at hand and if, as many of us suspect, the PL haven’t got anything more than what UEFA had and what is already in the public domain, then anything other than the decision CAS reached will stink of a stitch-up.

Exactly...if they pulled out of horse racing in this country and that includes sponsorship for our biggest races,100s of people would lose jobs and Newmarket would be in trouble along with the rest of racing...not a peep out of the usual suspects about horse washing...set of twats...
And not a peep out of them about bank washing when Mansour bought all those shares in Barclays and sold them for a huge profit 12 months later.

Abu Dhabi is one of the largest investors in off shore wind farms in the U.K. So basically any of the 65 million people in this country when they boil the kettle or charge their phones, they are energy washing.

Everton and scum fans at work asked me what I thought about the fact that Everton received such a harsh sentence.
Said I care very little as it doesn't really concern me.

Of course they were staggered and vouldn't believe the fact that I believed it was a completely different case, so had little relevance for me, especially as Everton had openly admitted to their charges, and ours hadn't been proven yet.
Wholly different case.

Qualified it with a big 'IF' we were found guilty, I might be more interested, but until that time, I trust in the evidence I have seen so far. Which is not only our Chairman dismissing it all as being baseless thanks to 'irrefutable proof', but having seen the same type of charade played out with UEFA.

Telling me to takenl of my blue-tinted specs for a moment, they responded with
'They can't all.be baseless...115 of them'

- Why not? And similarly, what if they are? You can't know yet, so for me no point wasting any more time worrying about it.

'But...etc. etc.'
Seemed to offend them in some way that I really didn't give much of a shit.

I understand that 'thinking slowly' isn't really for people who aren't deeply involved or interested in a subject, but the blinkered inability to see an objective viewpoint does worry me in people who are supposed to be directors...
Directors being led by social meeja FFS no wonder our country is fked!! You at least expect some critical, objective analysis from people who's decisions affect workers mortgages etc! Thats a fenuine worry.

Why would the people of Cambridgeshire be worried?
