PL charge City for alleged breaches of financial rules

Per game cost of new PL deal:£6.2m.
Per game cost of old deal agreed in 2018:£8.5m.
Old value adjusted for inflation: £10.6m.
The bubble has burst.

The headline figure is bigger in the deal just announced but purely on the back of more live games.

Yes, City are one of the reasons why the deals have risen so much since 2012. Even Scudamore acknowledged it.

The problem for the PL is that the "value" of the package is likely to be contractually reduced in the absence of City and/or Chelsea.

The big 6 games attract the highest viewing figures.

If only United, Arsenal, Liverpool and Spurs it means just 12 "big" games per season.

A normal Big 6 is 30 "big" games per seaon.

Some difference that...

There is a "smart bomb" , scorched earth last resort button (reasonably decent sources). Only time and a grossly detrimental finding will tell though.
In the meantime it's just forum tennis.

If and that’s a big if the Premier League nailed City and Chelsea to a door and demoted both clubs down a few league it would be problematic for the Premier League. The two most successful clubs of the last decade would be then outside of the legal remit to stop the super league starting. Madrid, Barcelona and Juventus would love this as it means they can resign from Uefa club competitions and push on with the new tournament with 2 out of the 6 teams originally signed up from the Premier League.

The four remaining teams being United, Liverpool, Arsenal and Spurs wouldn’t have a choice but to push to resign from the premier league and UEFA competitions as the best teams in Europe would be playing elsewhere. Mansour could probably bank roll it and take away the original American influence on who the stakeholders were and who financed it.

All hypothetical stuff but the Premier League is playing a dangerous game that could kill its golden goose if they press ahead with trying to destroy City.

If the club were found guilty on all charges - which would need the PL to pull something game changing out of their folders - then it would be incredibly difficult for the executive team to stay on. You’d be talking about one of the UKs biggest frauds in recent history, you don’t just carry on as if nothing happened. There would undoubtedly also be a strong push to disbar SM as an owner.

Now it would take something like extraordinary for the club to be found guilty on all charges, and of course the status of the executive team would then be very low on the list of issues to resolve.
Not like you to be dramatic

Pathetic.
Haven't you got something better to do than coming onto this forum and being a wum. Your life must be boring.

Are you sure about that? It would seem counter-productive to do so but there's very little about these proceedings that follows logic or common sense.

You are right it all seems counter-intuitive. Anyone ready for a conspiracy theory that would explain it all?

Masters is a plant from the usual suspects to destroy the PL from the inside, prepare public opinion for an ESL and make sure it happens. How is that?

:)

The P/L idiot who pressed the button on these charges is the only head that should roll. Untold damage and potential damage to a successful model.
Ill thought through and incredibly childish and stupid.
I bet even the red clubs are thinking shit, where/how does this end.
It’s a big if whether we get expelled - but I’m quite sure the red teams don’t give a flying fuck about what happens to City or Chelsea.

The PL will survive with or without us - and I’m quite sure most other teams will be delighted by their improved positions.

The red teams will be guaranteed trophies and Champs league qualification so they won’t be arsed.

The charges were pressed with the sole purpose of getting rid of City. Why would they suddenly have cold feet about it ?
