PL charge City for alleged breaches of financial rules

The PL don’t sign off accounts. They rely on them to be true and fair. If they aren’t it’s the clubs fault
You learn something new everyday. On a serious note Stefan, am I right in thinking that no accountant worth their salt would sign off on any account they believed to be fraudulent and it would be a very hard thing for the Premier league to prove.

I've said many times it will all be hard for the PL to prove. But audits are not a forensic look for fraud. If auditors are mislead or not shown material documents/information then they will have a legal shield to some extent (subject to showing sufficient professional scepticism). So knowingly signing off fraudulent accounts? No but it is a little more nuanced than that.

Seem to remember part of the CAS judgment was a financial expert saying he couldn’t rule UEFAs scenario fully out due to the limitations of the audit performed on ADUG in particular. Does make it very difficult to prove either way though.

The Premier League for years signed those audited accounts off as being legitimate now they don't think they are, why is that?
They do not sign them off but it’s not like they have not seen them. If we had failed FFP like Everton they would know if there was something they thought was a bit of trick or something they didn’t agree with you would think they would have spotted it as they did with Everton

You heard correctly.
A club that admitted breaking the rules gets punished and the media's narrative is 'injustice'.
Compare that to a club who admits to doing nothing wrong and the narrative swiftly changes to 'guilty' and 'throw the book at the cheating bastards'.
Strange one that
And also for a bit of balance they chucked in that Newcastle had tired legs due to "all" the games they're having to play. WTF
