PL charge City for alleged breaches of financial rules

Hey lads, Wrexham fan here - go easy! Like you, we're high on everyone's agenda since we came into some well deserved investment and attention. Jealousy is a huge part of daily life. Looking at Citys case though, do none of you believe you've never done anything wrong or is it just a huge conspiracy borne out of jealousy and envy? And if found guilty, what kind of punishment are you expecting? Cheers.
I don’t believe you’re a Wrexham fan and we won’t be getting any punishment so fuck off back to Rag Cafe.

I wonder if the Premier League regret the way they've handled this. They're getting more criticism now from fans and the media than they were before the charges were announced. They've taken on a case they cannot win, and are doing immense damage to their own brand in the process. It's been pretty disastrous already for them.
My main takeaway from this post is that you said the PL have taken on a case they can’t win. You always strike me as someone who errs on the side of caution Ric so I’m surprised to see you post that! Obviousiy, that now means I have to ask if you’ve heard anything more about the case from contacts within the club? ;)

damage done, being innocent means the systems corrupt and we have paid off the prem and colluded or bribed the government somehow (the most batshit recent claim)

Found guilty everyone feels vindicated.

In the end all the cretins and sheep on social media amd some beyond will never think we are innocent, and you know what fuck em.

Ha, no I’ve not heard anything from within the club. I’m just increasingly confident that we’ll be cleared of the most serious charges. Hopefully that confidence isn’t misguided!

I don’t really give a fuck what they think tbh.

If I'm being perfectly honest, the Red Top Mafia plus Spuds tried to strangle City at birth.

David Gill of ManUre & UEFA constructed FFP as a way to stop Manchester City from challenging football's elite, so as they made moves to halt our progress, we found legal ways around their crooked ruse.

As we continued to grow our business & brand, they amended FFP further to stop us, so we found more legal ways to get around it.

This is what's pissed them off. Regardless of the smoke & mirrors, we progressed to the club we are today where FFP actually benefits us, as it stops another Manchester City from challenging us.

This explains why these recent accusations & breaches go back to 2009, pre-FFP. They can't get us for who we are now, so they're digging up historical matters in the hope they can finally cripple us for good.

It ain't happening. We crossed the drawbridge before it was raised & the portculis was lowered, which is why they're throwing these desperate haymakers in the forlorn hope one produces a knockout punch.

Wrexham will know exactly what we're going through, all because of jealousy borne out of the fear we'll leave our competitors behind.

I wish Wrexham all the luck in the world & hope to meet you in the PL one day.

I think the consensus here is increasingly channeling Stefan Borson's view. This is essentially that the PL have likely overreached, and that the size of the charges will be almost impossible to prove in the arena where they're being settled. I don't think it's a conspiracy per se, but I do think English football is now a battleground for American corporate and middle eastern wealth funds and that the City charges directly emerge as a result of that battle.

Stefan's views can be found here.

We've been through this once before and been found innocent. Now ask yourself why a club would be banned from European competition, only to be fully exonerated at the CAS. Only to be then charged again by the PL. There are powerful clubs, who behind the scenes are behind both the UEFA and PL charges.

Thanks pal. Not sure what the other guy is on tbh. Odd.

I've been reading a guy on Twitter, Russell Scott and that's what's piqued my interest. The way he puts it, it's cut and dried and involves high level conspiracy and cover ups. Sounds crazy tbh. If it was all true, surely City would already have been brought to book and punished accordingly? A lot of Liverpool fans I know are already counting titles they're going to be given "when justice is served". They almost sound desperate.
