The FFP rule is that you can only spend what you earn via normal revenue. SM could have lent us billions but we couldn't spend it. The whole premise of the UEFA and PL cases was that he'd given us money disguised as revenue.

But the problem with UEFA's argument (and presumably the PL's) is that they accepted Etihad's sponsorship was broadly fair value. CAS certainly agreed with that.

Part of the PL's case will probably be around not declaring Etihad as a related party. That's not going to wash I suspect and even if it did, the central fact is that the Etihad sponsorship was fair value, whether Etihad is or isn't a related party.

And our auditors didn’t see Etihad as a related party either… won’t that be a tough hurdle for the PL to scale retrospectively?

Fucking hell the first news article on my Google app this morning. What a smarmy looking knobhead he is. How the hell can the head of UEFA come out and say that. How can any of us pretend that daily attacks from the media on our club is OK because we win trophies.
It isn't.
We've just won the treble but instead of basking in the glory and accolade we read/hear toxic attacks of our club 24/7.
Don't read it or listen I hear you say.
How, when you only have to face it from other fans now, in work or out in the pub.
Maybe if we ever heard the club fight back then we'd feel more unified but we don't.
So no winding up the red shirts really doesn't equate for this much shit being directed at us for me.

All he has done here is show how inept UEFA are as organisation, they believed their ambulance chasing counsel that they had a case who I hazard a guess weren’t doing it for free. Making statements like this is stupid on their part but also a gift to those who are trying to start up a Super League, who can point to this as another example of UEFA not being fit for purpose.

Ceferin should be looking to keep City onside when three clubs in Barca, Real and Juventus have itchy feet, as what ever happens in City’s case will probably be the end of Uefa and the Premier League.
