PL charge City for alleged breaches of financial rules

The funniest thing about all the shit we've had to contend with since we've become a threat to the spoilt cartel, both here and in Europe, is how absolutely fucking stupid fans of other clubs are. That is fans of clubs other than Liverpool, United, Arsenal, Spurs and Chelsea. Fans of other clubs should be right behind us, because our treatment has shown what any club who dares to challenge their cosy cartel faces. They will stop at nothing to halt our progress and discredit us. It has been relentless and is unprecedented. From rushing through ever changing ffp rules, to hacking databases and emails to non stop bile from so called journalists on their payroll. Luckily for us we've got the wealth and might to fight the wankers. Other clubs haven't and will just tow the line as a result.
They don't really give a fuck about Everton and Forest. They are small fry, pawns in the bigger end game. Their fans won't want to hear it but it's true. Masters as good as confirmed it. Instead of shouting "What about City???" they need to fucking wake up as to who the real enemy are and unite with us to end their unhealthy grip on the game.

Oh do keep up they’ve not been called 1894 Group for about 6 years

Spectacular own goal 99% of Blues agree with their post so take your agenda elsewhere mate.
When did this poll take place?

Only I'm a Blue and I disagreed so what's my agenda?

Totally agreed.

I have to say that I'm not happy about the 1894 Group post on social media and all they have done is to whip up negative comments from our own fans to the club, which is exactly the sort of thing that the fans of other clubs want to see. Not for the first time, they've scored a spectacular own goal by not thinking through their action to consequence.

The club are in a protracted legal battle with the PL that is going to an 'independent' hearing. We have to be careful not to be accused of trying to prejudice the case. Let others sling mud and let's play things by the book.

What Ceferin has said is hardly news. UEFA found us guilty. CAS overturned the verdict. UEFA were hardly ever going to just throw their hands up and say, "oh alright, then, we admit, it was a kangaroo court, with a verdict based upon a whim". Like any prosecution case in a court that failed to get a conviction, they are always going to believe that they were right and there has been a miscarriage of justice.

I think we can all work out the drill here and how the press work. There's a huge storm about us at the moment that has purely come from the fact that the PL are about to charge Everton (again) and Forest. The Telegraph has decided to cash in on this by seeking out Ceferin for an interview and obtaining the quote they wanted, which he can freely give because UEFA are not involved in this particular case. However, if the PL are behind that, then it is they who are prejudicing the case.

The accusation from other fans is that we will get off because our legal team will be better than the PL's. The mantra from many of our fans is that the quality of our legal team will ensure that justice prevails. In our favour. It is that very same legal team that will be advising Manchester City not to comment upon the mud slinging. So, do we trust them or not?

Let's face it. All our enemies think we are guilty anyway, so what will a statement change? We are hot news in the FFPR department as we were 12 months ago, but the latest storm will soon blow away until the next time. This will crescendo again every couple of months from now until the verdict depending on other cases, so we can't expect City to keep on issuing statements each time. The mud will be slung anyway, so I feel the best course of action is just to maintain a dignified silence and believe that adhering to the process is the best course of action.

All that banning dissenters from the club will do is further add ammunition to those who say that we have something to hide. Corrupt regimes ban dissenters. And if we do so, that's the image that we will portray of ourselves. Even more so than the image we already have. It would play right into our enemies' hands.

The club knows what it is doing. Believe in them.
Guess what? City aren't beyond criticism you know. Oh, and what's your excuse for the club not publically backing the fans and acknowledging all the shit that went down in Istanbul instead of throwing City Matters under a bus?

You're entitled to your opinion of course but I'll point out that you sound every bit as much a miserable fooker as you were 20 fucking years ago when you used to post on Talkin' City.

Oh, and a message to everyone else - please don't confuse DD with @Didsbury Dave That's happened in the past which has resulted in the latter getting unnecessary pelters!

From reading this thread I’m grateful I’m not in the U.K. because if I was out and about and some fucker I didn’t know approached me and called me a cheating **** I wouldn’t be responding with friendly smile and ask for an explanation.
I’ve never been one for wearing any football related stuff tbf so nobody would have reason to but those who do like to wear their shirts with pride shouldn’t have to worry about walking down the street and have some bell end give them grief.
It won’t end well this, the death by a thousand cuts we seem to be suffering at the hands of the press will see somebody hurt before long.
I'm out and about all the time and not one person has called me/City cheats.

no he said that in court (speaking from experience as a lawyer) there are cases which you think you will lose that you win, and cases that you think you will win (the one against city) that you end up losing, not because the parties were innocent or that the verdict was correct but because the lawyers had a bad day in court...he is implying that if the case was heard again it could well have gone the other way (and should have done in his mind) because after all 'they were right'
and as i said what was he supposed to say, we went all the way to the court of arbitration for sport with absolutely nothing, course he thought they were right, hes a chancer, same as most people who work for these rotten organisations, he has to back himself because uefa got their arse handed to them and they know that it makes them look weak.

The IC, however, is NOT a court. It is a body, the members of which are chosen by an appointee of the PL. They are three in number, only one of whom has to have a legal background and is presumably a KC. The "background" of the other two may be in the world of finance. They are to decide whether officials at City are guilty of fraud and effectively to trash the reputation of some of the most important leaders, diplomats and businessmen on the global stage. This is indeed a "big call" and not one a three man panel of a KC and two ex-finance officers from premier clubs can make based on their view of the balance of probabilities. Fraud is fraud and is a criminal matter. City would appeal to the courts who would hear the appeal. No matter that the PL says it is deciding on a matter concerning solely its own rules. As a former solicitor general said concerning the bill declaring that Rwanda was to be considered a safe place to send asylum seekers, the courts will not accept that every dog is a cat simply because legislation says so! Fraud remains fraud whatever the PL says

Well, you may be right. But I have been told on here by people who know what they are talking about that civil courts routinely make decisions on contract breaches as a result of effectively fraudulent behaviour. I have no reason to disbelieve them.

From what you're saying it sounds very much that the club have pushed the boundaries on FFP but kept within the rules.
I consulted through tens and tens of different businesses -private and public sector- and helped buy and sell some. Every business entity I worked in looked to be imaginative with their finances to present best case. Some decisions/ interpretations/ wheezes led to interesting discussions with Auditors, Non Execs, Boards, Industry bodies, gvmt depts etc.
I would be willing to bet that every club in every Lge in England has done this and will continue to do it.
Nothing done was definitely illegal /criminal but some could certainly be said to push boundaries and financial legal definitions or interpretations.
It is what is done in business and football is a business.

OK

Richard, Tim nice but Dim, Masters not extinguishing concrrns or managing expectations last week with Basset Face Parry.
Omar Quisling on Sunday,
Snake Cefarin yesterday
Simon Doubtfire and Talkshite every fcking minute.

What will today bring.
Come on City - fire a salvo on how unacceptable this is.
Sadly, as much as the owner and those he’s entrusted to run the club have delivered in spades on and off the pitch to drag the club to the very top I doubt we will ever see any comment on the charges or the adverse affects it has on the supporters until this is all over.

We are on our own in that regard and just have to sit tight and hope they have been honest with us because a guilty verdict will cause fucking havoc and some blues may well snap in the future.

There’s a hell of a lot riding on this outcome.
