Chelsea have three issues to contend with and the one you reference is indeed for next season but the other two are potentially far more serious:

Finally, it is almost certain that they will fail PSR for 2023-24 by a huge margin. They need to raise way over 100 mill net profit on player sales by June 30th this year.

It won’t be Palmer as his book value is £32m, so the profit in £100m would only be £68m.

Itll be Gallagher or James as their book value is £0.

It could be Palmer if someone offered stupid money, but with PSR, I can’t see them getting enough for any of their players before June 30th.
