PL charge City for alleged breaches of financial rules

No journalist, TV pundit, or Youtuber is going to show their cease and desist letter from City in public. It would be career suicide. They will have all taken legal advice, and will have been told not to comment. So for anyone waiting for proof the letters have gone out that way, forget it.
Cool hand be like

I find it quite ironic that all of the media dickheads will be following the advise of their legal teams and will defend their position on this hill. However when City follow their legal advise with the PL investigations the same people accuse us of not co-operating and being totally unreasonable.

I know. I don’t want or need proof.

But I am 100% right in saying there is no proof out there, and people claiming there is and that proves we have been cleares are 100% wrong.

I am expecting some sort of statement will be issued before the hearing stating that no further action will be taken, i suspect we will give the PL a way to save face to an extent and we will get some punishment for failing to co-operate.

Something along the lines of, City were found not to have broken the rules but could have brought this to an earlier conclusion if they had provided the information required, as such a settlement of £xxx million has been agreed for non-co-operation, and this will close the matter in full.

In effect clears us of wrongdoing but also allows the PL to save face.
If we have any significant leverage here, I would also push for cases to be opened investigating other clubs' less than transparent dealings (stadium development fees, anyone?) - even if swept under the carpet in the final assessment, just to air in public how much information they were prepared to disclose about their operations.

No, why should I?
Because you're claiming nobody has received any when someone affirms that they've been given out.
There's a soundbite, from Goldbridge himself, stating he "doesn't want to talk about 115 anymore, not just because City have threatened legal action". This is central to the discussion currently about City being in a position of strength and what it could possibly mean.

If you don't want to believe it, fine, but you can't expect to start demanding proof from others who find these recent speculative developments to hold weight, when you have none to provide yourself in counter, can you.

Look at the Daily Mail's reaction; rumours abound on the internet that City's charges have been dropped, and they come out with "no they haven't!" without providing any proof to deny other than "MIke Keegan says not".

I believe you. But there is no 'proof' available or ou there that people are referring to, or anything official that can be claimed in the way it has been, as proof we have been cleared.

Absolutely, and I haven't been given the list of names, either.

Others may want to claim or piggyback.

I haven't asserted we have been cleared, only the legals being sent are said to be from a position of strength, which would suggest we have a high degree of confidence.

Although, if we are helping them out of shit, we may as well push for complete exoneration on everything with somethjng that states all due protocols and obligations were found to have been followed thoroughly - which is how such an investigation should be carried out.

It wasn’t aimed at you, Coatign. It was a general comment. I don’t think anyone in their right minds would expect anyone receiving the letter, if they have received the letter, to go public about it.

Only Evans has really alluded to something via his City hating spleen, and Goldbridge via his uncomfortable silence, squirm in his seat, and saying he doesn’t want to comment about 115 anymore.

I have previously said on the matter, that imo Simon Stone saying 'I'll tread lightly for now' when discussing the charges is more of a suggestion of it being true, than either goldbridge or evans being flippant about it. But even that is just reading into it and speculation.

There is a big difference between that, and taking it as proof and claiming it as fact. And there is also a heck of a leap between pointing that out, and calling @tolmie's hairdoo a liar or arguing I don't believe letters might have been sent out.

And that is the problem. A complete lack of balance, greys and anything inbetween the two.
