We aren't state owned, we're privately owned by somebody who just so happens to be part of the royal family of a state. In fact none of that is true anymore and we're owned mostly by the Sheikh however also by US and Chinese private equity.
Either way though of course the Sheikh and the UAE isn't going to allow that investment to reflect badly upon the UAE. They have invested in city in good faith and they're not going to accept being called cheats for it.
Which was the point I was making, it begins to validate the notion that anyone with that close a connection to a state shouldn’t be allowed to own a club. It’s not a point that really should be considered at all.
