PL charge City for alleged breaches of financial rules

In enemy territory today for work at the Threater of nightmares so such a shame we haven’t been cleared today

City Chief on X: "Barça still owe #ManCity €13m for Ferran Torres. City have reportedly sold the debt to a bank — taking around 95% of the money upfront. https://t.co/IH8lO6YU1F" / X https://share.google/1nmx8ipHxJfaBxktN
Just a couple of social media claims at the moment, although ChatGPT seems to think that 95% is a suspiciously large figure. I'm fairly certain that we don't have a cash flow issue either, so can't see why we'd do that.

We know for a fact that Liverpool did do that to some extent with Coutinho because it's apparently mentioned in Barcelona's accounts.

Seems like reasonable insurance against a default and money up front?

They just nicked my tweet and screenshot. City factored the remaining monies from Barca - we know this because Barca's accounts tells us - so it is definitely correct. Given the risk (UEFA football creditor rules) and current interest rates, I reckon it cost 5-6%pa to do so. It won't be far out. Whilst City likely don't have cashflow issues, like any business they look to use the balance sheet efficiently.

Ahh, I didn't know it had been spotted in their accounts.

Still remarkable that they only just finished spending that money on Isak.
