Sadly, I have had this same thought for awhile now. There are so many American billionaires looking for a big sports franchise and English teams are all the rage.It don't matter anymore, Pep is probably on his way end of this season, rules are in place that make our owners business plan awkward to execute. The premier league is on its way to throwing away its financial advantage just to keep 4 clubs happy and the rest in their place. Maybe Sheikh Mansour is also ready to cash in his shares and get out while the going is good.
Either that, or he floats the CFG on the NYSE. If he didn’t want an outright sale, he could create a Golden Share that keeps him in control, but releases billions of investment dollars for a new venture. However, it would make more sense to sell the whole thing once the new concert venue and stadium expansion create another income stream, and thus inflate the value even further.
